THE THE CHURCH CHURCH CHURCH OF

THE CHURCH OF THE REDEEMER – SARASOTA, FLORIDA
The Feast of Christ the King (Yr A RCL)
23 November 2014
WELCOME VISITORS!
VISITORS
The Church of the Redeemer is delighted to have you with us
today to share in our mission to know, love, worship and obey our Lord
Jesus Christ.
Whether this is your first, second, or third visit, please help us welcome you by wearing a visitor name tag found inside the parish brochure
in the pew racks in front of you. We also invite you to join us for coffee
and Christian fellowship after the services on the veranda (weather permitting) or inside Gillespie Hall. Look for the Welcome Table in Gillespie
Hall. As you exit the front of the church, simply follow the pathway to
your right, past our Rose Garden, and around to the veranda and Gillespie
Hall.
If you would like to receive more information about our services,
ministries, and mission, or to be placed on our mailing list, please fill out
the Visitor Card attached to the visitor name tag, and place it in the offering plate, or hand it to an usher, and be sure to come to the Welcome Table
in Gillespie Hall. We hope you will choose to return to the Church of the
Redeemer and invite you to call on us at any time (955.4263) or visit our
website (www.redeemersarasota.org).
ANNOUNCEMENTS AND INFORMATION
Today . . .
We celebrate the Feast of Christ the King today, and at 9AM
all of the children through grade 3 will be in the procession.
At the Rector’s Class Father Marsden’s Essential Bible Story will
be Creation Part II, “Adam and Eve.”
A wonderful way to share Redeemer is through our red Welcome
Table which is rolled out in front of the church before each mass.
Visitors receive a “Redeemer Welcome” from volunteer greeters.
We need more people to “take their place” with this fun, easy ministry, and you can choose how much time you can give. It is a
lovely way for visitors to feel welcome, and for regular parishioners to see different faces! To take your place on the schedule, go to
redeemersarasota.org, select “Resources and Media,” then
“Schedules and Sign Ups.”
Bridge to the Word, a small group adult Sunday School class,
meets today in Room 207 above Gillespie Hall, 10:10–10:40 AM.
The Bloodmobile is here today from 8:15 AM – 12:45 PM. For
the last two Blood Drives, we exceeded the 10-unit requirement!
Let’s continue to keep the Blood Drive at Redeemer.
Today is a make-up Sunday for those who would like to turn in
an “Investment Pledge Card” and/or “Take Your Place Card.” Both
cards are available in your pew pockets, or in the narthex. Place
the completed cards in the basket when you go to communion, or
return them to the parish office any time before 1 December.

Redeemer EYC . . .
Contact: [email protected]
EYC is more than a youth group! It’s a way to explore your faith as a
young person in community here at Redeemer. We’re having an amazing
time building a piece of the Kingdom! Invite your friends so they don’t
miss out on things like Chariot Races and the COTR Smash Bros. Invitational!
SR EYC IS TONIGHT! End your weekend right tonight from 6:30PM to
8:00M by getting together with the best High School crew in Christendom! Tonight we’re starting on a topic the group picked: World Religions.
We’ll start with Judaism and over the next few weeks find our way to
Buddhism and beyond. What do other religions believe? How are they
similar to ours? What is distinct about Christianity? There’s a lot to talk
about! Don’t miss it!
COFFEE AND COMMUNITY is a fellowship opportunity for our Senior
High folks. We’ve been meeting at Pastry Art on Main St. at 4pm on
Tuesdays. We’d like to start talking about C.S. Lewis’s Screwtape Letters. Want to join? Just show up! Want a book? Let Fr. David know!
JR EYC is like a tiny unicorn smashing your face with a cookie dough
pie. That’s a good thing, right? Because Jr. EYC is a very good thing.
BUT we will have this Wednesday night off for the holiday! Mark your
calendars and we’ll see you next week!
ICE SKATING is something that Fr. David has never done. We’re going
ice skating on 26 November with our friends from St. Boniface. Fr. David
says: “I’m sure that I’m a natural. I hope it’s easy.” Come see how that
works out. Wednesday, 26 November; 1:00PM-6:00PM; $20 includes
admission, skates, and dinner following!
FRIDAY MORNINGS are not for sleeping. They are for hanging out with
the best people ever. At 6:15 AM on Fridays, we’re reading Scripture
together and eating some awesome breakfasts. Don’t worry, you’ll be out
the door in time for school. Need more info? Talk to Fr. David ASAP so
we can see you next Friday morning!
Other important dates for EYC:
☻11/25 Thanksgiving Service Project with Salvation Army and CYD
☻11/26 Ice Skating with St. Boniface
☻11/30 FWC and EYC Event at Red Rock Park
Students! Ever have a question about church stuff and then forgot to
ask when you got to EYC? Ask away with #eycsupwith to our
twitter@redeemereyc or Instagram redeemereyc!
Please note . . .
If you are interested in being on the slate of nominees for the
2015 vestry, please contact Jody Maxwell, Senior Warden, or Father Robinson. Seats to be filled are two from 9:00 AM, one from
11:00 AM, and one from 1:00 PM.
Online giving is a simple way to invest in the work of the parish. Use our online giving tool at redeemersarasota.org to support
Redeemer. Make one-time gifts, pledges, pledge payments, and
memorial gifts with the touch of a button, using your credit card.
Why can’t we be friends? Like us on Facebook and share the
goings on of the parish on your wall.
We welcome the newest members of our parish family:
