RETIRE
t the October 23 District Advisory Board meeting, Dr. Borger announced that it is his intention to retire at our 2015 District Assembly with his resignation effective 30 days following District Assembly - June 1, 2015. Dr. David Graves joined the meeting via telephone
to discuss the process of selecting a new DS at District Assembly. The
District Advisory Council will meet within the next couple of weeks to
begin the process.
Pastor Borger reports that, “It has been my privilege to serve as your
district superintendent these now almost 13 years. At District Assembly I
will have completed 40 years of ministry, 13 of those years as the Intermountain District Superintendent.
I will look forward to being in many of your churches over the next six months to say a good-bye to our
great district family. Thanks for all your prayers and support.”
NEW PASTOR AT BOISE FIRST
B
oise First Community Church of the Nazarene is excited to announce the calling of
Rev. Johnny D. Hampton as their new Lead Pastor. Johnny has served at College Church of the
Nazarene in Nampa for 16 years as a volunteer,
ministry intern, youth, and Family and Generations Pastor.
ohnny has been married to Joye for 14 years
(this month) and they have two boys: Caleb
(7) and Levi (3). One of their favorite things to
do as a family is to have adventures together whether it is spending time on their family fish
site in Alaska (where this picture was taken) or
going on family “Destination Unknowns” (most
recently to Disneyland). They are going to miss
the significant ministry happening at College
Church, but are
really looking
forward to this
new family adventure
and
being a part of
what God is
doing through
Boise
First.
Their first Sunday will be December 14.

Church Pastor Kent
Conrad announced
his retirement effective January 1, 2015.
He shared, “For the
past 40 1/2 years it
has been a blessing
and a privilege to be
called pastor by some
of the greatest people in the world. Kay and I
have loved the people of Tulsa Regency Park,
Spokane First, Seattle Aurora, and for the past
12 years, Nampa First Church of the Nazarene. Thanks to all of you for loving us. We are
blessed!”
he Conrads will be staying in the Treasure Valley and hopefully Pastor Kent
will have plenty of time to pursue his passions, “My passions in life are reaching people
for Christ, riding my Harley with Kay, loving
on our two grandchildren, and watching my
favorite team, the Nebraska Cornhuskers!”
Our best wishes to Pastor Kent and Kay.

ATTENDANCE
T
his is the theme for our Thanksgiving Offering this year. This important offering each year goes to the World Evangelism Fund to
h
help support our missionaries and the mission work around the world.
When we look to the Old Testament and see how the people of God
w
were thankful and they brought offerings to the Temple to thank HIM,
aare we any different in bringing our “Thank Offerings” today?

in His giving to us?
There are many materials available to help promote this special offering if you go online to
nazarene.org Need a new idea using this year’s theme? Have everyone in the church sign a big
paper banner expressing why they are thankful and hang it up during the whole month. Have fun,
be creative, and be thankful!.
Remember: We give “Because We Are Thankful”!

TRINITY PINES
BEFORE PHASE II
B
efore we can proceed with Phase II
of the Conference Center remodel at
Trinity Pines, we have one very large obstacle. That is the transformer located on the
west side of the building. The transformer
is in the direct path of the remodel which
means it has to be moved. This is not a
small or easy task and definitely not without a cost. The estimate from Idaho Power
to do the work, and the electrical company
to re-connect the necessary power sources is $30,000. The excavation of the road,
installation of a water culvert, etc. will be
done by Trinity Pines staff.
t Share the Dream VIII, we generated
nearly one-third of the costs ($9,800)
affiliated with this project. The work had
to be scheduled with Idaho Power crews
and is slated for the middle of November.
The work will interrupt power service for
a few hours to the Conference Center but
an alternative power source will be in place.
If you would like to financially give to this
project, please clearly identify your gift as
Transformer.
