Stand With Pastor Frank Isla Vista PrayerVigil Pray for Pastor Frank Schaefer as he faces another church trial the judicial council hearing The hearing will take place inMemphis Tennessee on October 22, 2014 This body is the highest court in the United Methodist Church; its decision is final and cannot be appealed. Rev. Schaefer could be defrocked again, this time permanently! Rev. Schaefer and his wife Brigitte will be at the University UM Church in Isla Vista (see address below) Come to greet and support them at our prayer vigil on October 15, 5 - 7:00 P.M. Back Story: - Pastor Frank performed his gay son's wedding in 2007, for which he faced a church trial in 2013. Following the trial, he lost his job/career. -Frank successfully appealed to a higher United Methodist court and was reinstated as a pastor on June 26. -He was given a new parish in Isla Vista, CA on July 1st which he is currently serving. -Now Pastor Frank's reinstitution is being appealed by the church's prosecution.
