EDUCATION SUPPORT SPECIALIST II

DESCRIPTION:
The Education Support Specialist II assists the Academic Counseling staff by
performing general office administrative duties to support the mission and
responsibilities of Student Services. The person in this position has extensive
contact with students and the general public related to the admissions process,
student records, and registration. This position provides courteous and efficient
service and information to students, parents, college personnel, and the general
public. Additionally, this position is responsible for all Trade Act and Workforce
Investment Act recipients and is the liaison for the Virginia Employment
Commission and Workforce Career Centers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of an associate’s degree required in a business or related field, with a
bachelor’s degree preferred; previous administrative office experience, preferably
in an educational environment; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and
PowerPoint) and Oracle Student Information System required. Must provide
exceptional customer service at all times, have excellent written and oral
communication skills, and be able to maintain confidentiality.
