Contra Costa County Library wants you to
shake, rattle, and roll to your local library for the
Summer Reading Festival! All ages from birth
to adult can “mark time” on a reading log,
available at your local library or online at
ccclib.org, to drum up record-breaking prizes
and raffle entries! Tune in to rockin’ events
taking place all over the county, and be sure to
turn in your finished record before the big
crescendo on August 15!

Danville Library's popular Legos and Listening
program is designed to hone listening skills and
explore creativity! Children listen quietly to
recorded stories while creating projects with
Lego building blocks. Each child receives a

Age Well, Drive Smart –
A Program for Senior Drivers
and their Families
Thursday, April 9, at 1pm Mt. Diablo Room, Danville Library
TINY TICKETS EARN $$$
If you have small amounts of money left on your
BART tickets that you don’t intend to use, you can
donate them to the Friends. Put them in the plastic
container at the front desk in the Danville Library.
The Friends will receive a check for the
accumulated unused portion of the tickets.
The Danville Library and California Highway
Patrol present this interactive program to help
senior drivers and their families continue to
drive safer and longer. Learn about tips for safer
driving, car accessories for safer and more
comfortable driving, DMV requirements when
drivers reach 70, and an opportunity to speak
with a CHP Officer. 3

Newsletter Editor Needed
Our lively and inventive newsletter editor Leslie Szumowski
will be retiring after this edition of the newsletter. Many
thanks, Leslie, for your help and support of the Friends over
the past years.
If you might enjoy this appointment, please inquire about
becoming our newsletter editor. The newsletter is published
four times a year and is sent electronically to members. The
next newsletter is published in September, so you will have
plenty of time to get up to speed. Assistance is available to
help you learn how to do the paste up and find illustrations.
