Jag har tappat kontakten igen med Terrie Odabi. Det såg lovande ut ett tag att jag skulle få påfyllning av
Evolution of the blues, men nu ser det osäkert ut hur det går…
Rockmusikern Jack White har, i samarbete med John Faheys Revenant Recods, på sitt skivbolag Third Man
Records gett ut de omskrivna boxarna The rise and fall of Paramount Records Vol.1 & 2;1917-1932. Vardera
6 LP-skivor, USB-minne med 800 låtar (blues m m), ett par böcker, mängder med foton/affischer. Allt i varsin
replika av en portabel skivspelare i trä. Vikt per box 11,5 kg. Pris 6500:-/box + frakt. Beställningsvara.
Vi har nu fått in DVD-utgåvan av This ain´t no mouse music! The story of Chris Strachwitz and Arhoolie
Records. Den är utförligt recenserad i Jefferson nr 183. 192 min. + 34 min. bonus. 295:-. Sedan tidigare har vi
soundtracken på 2-CD för 180:-. Maddox Bros. & Rose, Clifton Chenier, Hopkins, Flaco Jiménez, Mercy Dee,
Country Joe McDonald, Treme Brass Band, Savoy Family Band och många fler.
Guido van Rijn har i decennier publicerat och ställt samman LP/CDn, som blivit prisbelönta. Otroligt
genomarbetade och snyggt producerade. Smokestack har inte haft hans produktioner på många år. Men när
hans senaste, 3-CDn Deep south piano är ”Record of the Month” i Blues & Rhythm, tänkte jag att nu är det
jäklar i mig dags ta in den och flera av hans CDn på Agram Blues.
Fullständiga titeln för ovannämnda 3-CD är Deep south piano: The music of Little Brother Montgomery, his
