The ideas were flowing and we have a list of great suggestions on how we can improve the look of the school and pump up our school spirit! But all these great ideas mean nothing until we have an army of parents willing to lend a hand and volunteer their time to the cause. The RTFH is the largest Thanksgiving day run in the country! Rio team members receive a half-zip dry-fit pullover jacket with their registration and will have their race packets delivered for a special packet pick up at Rio. Team members also get preferred event parking and have access to the pre-race team tent with coffee and breakfast snacks. To join the team and get these benefits registration must be completed by November 4. Registration for adults is $50. Runners/Walkers under the age of 19 get a $15 discount. RUGBY SEASON IS COMING – REGISTRATION/INFORMATION NIGHT - OCTOBER 29, 2014 The Sacramento Eagles Rugby Club invites all Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors interested in playing high school rugby for the 2014-2015 season to attend the registration/information night on Wednesday, October 29, 2014, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at the El Camino High School Library, located at 4300 El Camino Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95821. All experience levels are welcome. Coaches Mark Fuller, Roy Brewer, J.R. Riddering and Steve Heberle will be present to discuss the rugby program and answer any questions. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend. The first practice will be held the first week of November with the season beginning in lateJanuary and ending in mid-May. This is a long standing tradition at Rio and each year new parents volunteer to keep this event going. Our first Grad Night Executive Committee Meeting will take place 10/22 at 6:30 in the school library. We are looking for parent from each grade level to be involved. SCHOOL NEWS: CIVITAS NEWS: Invitation to 9th Grade Students Choose to Make a Difference Rio Americano High School offers a unique program for students to development leadership and critical thinking skills through our Civitas Political Studies Academy. This is a highly academic 4 year program of honors courses of college-level studies and active community service participation. The Civitas Parent Information night is on Friday, October 24th from 5:00pm to 6:00pm. Staff and students will be available to explain the Civitas program and to answer questions.
