The Transportation Lawyers Association will be holding the
47th Transportation Law Institute (TLI) at the historic Chase
Park Plaza Hotel, St. Louis, Missouri. We will be presenting an
innovative and forward looking curriculum designed to keep
you abreast of the latest developments and to prepare you for
future challenges as transportation attorneys. The program has
material of interest to attorneys specializing in every mode of
transportation, and it will address cargo and casualty, litigation
and corporate practice, and, of course, ethics.
Location of the Program
The Transportation Law Institute will be held in the heart of
St. Louis at The Chase Park Plaza Hotel (212 N. Kingshighway
Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63108). The Chase Park Plaza offers you
a premier location surrounded by the very best St. Louis has
to offer. On your doorstep is the Central West End, one of
the city’s most popular dining and entertainment areas. Just
across the street you’ll find Forest Park, site of the 1904 World’s
Fair, and home to fine museums, a world-renowned zoo, and
one of the country’s best public golf courses. The location is
also just moments away from Busch Stadium, Washington
University, St. Louis University, the downtown and Clayton
business districts, and Lambert International Airport.
Who Can Attend?
The Institute is open to any attorney with an interest in
transportation law, practice, or procedure.
Registration
The registration fee for the Institute includes attendance at
the program sessions; the comprehensive program materials;
continental breakfast on Friday morning; lunch during the
Institute; refreshments at each break; and a wine and cheese
reception following the Institute.
To ensure that your name appears on the registration list
included in registration packets, register one of the following
ways before Oct. 21, 2014:
(1) MAIL the registration form with your check to the
Transportation Lawyers Association (TLA), P.O. Box 15122,
Lenexa, KS 66285, payable to the Transportation Lawyers
Association.
(2) FAX the registration form with a credit card number with
signature to TLA at 913-895-4652; or
(3) REGISTER ONLINE through the link on the TLA website
at www.translaw.org. Click on the link located on the
Transportation Law Institute page under Conferences
and CLE.
Papers, Proceedings, and an attendee list for those who have
pre-registered will be distributed online prior to the Institute
and onsite at the beginning of the Institute on Friday.
Onsite registration is available for those who miss the advance
registration deadline but would like to attend the program.
Onsite registration will be open the morning of Friday, Nov.
7, outside the meeting room. Program materials are ordered
based on the advance registration count and onsite registrants
cannot be guaranteed course materials at the program. (A copy
of the materials will be sent at a later date if sufficient quantities
are not available at the meeting site.)
Note: Every effort will be made to accommodate onsite
registrants. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee course
materials onsite. For this reason, advance registration is
encouraged.

Thursday Evening Reception and

A Welcome Reception will be held at the Tenderloin Room
Lobby from 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014,

Following the reception there will be an optional group dinner
at 7:00 p.m. at The Tenderloin Room. A reviewer of this venue
has been quoted as saying “To enjoy a meal here is to discover
the romance of the rich surroundings, defined by intricately
carved mahogany and sumptuous fabrics… the sensual
aroma of carefully combined ingredients… the intoxicating
taste of fine food prepared to exceptional standards. More
than a meal, it is an incomparable dining experience.” The
restaurant is located within The Chase Park Plaza Hotel. We
have arranged for a special $85.00 prix fixe menu consisting
of salad, dinner, dessert and wine (courtesy of our sponsoring
firms!). You will have the opportunity to reserve your place at
the dinner and make your meal selection when you register
for the TLI. A final count will be required 10 days before the
event.
Friday Evening Dine Around
For those of you who plan to stay into the weekend, we will
be arranging a dine around Friday evening, depending on the
level of interest. Further information will be circulated as we
get closer to the event.
Spouse & Guest Outing
An excursion is planned for spouses and guests at the
magnificent and expansive Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis,
just a few short blocks from the hotel. The Cathedral, the
mother church of the Archdiocese of St. Louis completed in
1914, is truly a wonder, containing, among many other notable
features, 41.5 million glass tesserae mosaic pieces, the largest
mosaic collection in the world. The Cathedral tour will be
followed by lunch at one of the fine restaurants located in
nearby Forest Park. If you will be accompanied by a spouse
or guest who would be interested in attending this outing,
please check the appropriate box on the Registration Form,
and further information will be provided.
A $75 cancellation fee will be imposed upon cancellations
received before Oct. 21, 2014. Cancellations will not be accepted
after Oct. 21, 2014; however, substitutions will be allowed.

Continuing Legal Education
(“CLE”)
Accreditation will be requested for the 47th Transportation
Law Institute from every state which participants indicate they
will require CLE credit. Please be aware that each state has
its own rules and regulations, including its definition of CLE.
Certificates of attendance will be available in the registration
packets you pick up onsite.

special room rate of $149.00 per single or double room has
been negotiated. Reservations can be made online by using

website at www.translaw.org or by calling 1-877-587-2427.
If calling, be sure to mention The Transportation Law
Institute or Transportation Lawyers Association for the
special rate and to be included in TLA’s room block. Check-in
time is 4:00 p.m. and check-out time is 12:00 p.m.
Reservations must be received by the hotel on or before
Oct. 17, 2014. Reservations received after that date will be
subject to availability, the hotel’s prevailing rates and may
not be allocated to TLA’s room block. Note that the room
block may be exhausted prior to Oct. 17, 2014. Accordingly,
