David Galbally
David is the son of one of Australia’s greatest
criminal lawyers, the late Frank Galbally and
nephew of the highly respected Leader of the
Opposition in the Legislative Council of the
Victorian Parliament, the late Jack Galbally CBE.
David is a leading Australian QC and an authority on corporate
governance and risk management issues. He is a Partner at
Melbourne commercial law firm, Madgwicks. His knowledge
stems from an illustrious legal career as an advocate for
companies and high profile individuals.
David at various times has represented Australia’s leading
sporting institutions including the Australian Football League
and Cricket Australia. He has also worked on some of Australia’s
most high profile and complex corporate and criminal cases.
David often comments and gives his expert opinion on legal
issues that arise in the media, and has been a legal commentator
on 3AW’s Neil Mitchell program for many years. His past sporting
appointments include the Chairman of the Melbourne Knights
Soccer Club and Board Member of the Collingwood Football
Club.
David is Member (AM) in the General Division of the Order of
Australia for significant service to the community, particularly
through leadership in health organisations and the provision of
pro bono legal services.
On 4 August 2014, world-wide commemorations marking the
centenary of the First World War started and will continue until
2018. For Australians, the Anzac Centenary will be one of the
most significant commemorations to take place in the lives of
current generations.
Ken Doolan joined the Royal Australian Navy as a 13 year old
cadet midshipman in 1953 and completed full time service in 1993
in the rank of rear admiral. He served in the destroyer Vampire
during Confrontation with Indonesia in 1966 and in the guided
missile destroyer Perth in 1970/71 during the Vietnam War. He
was the first Commanding Officer of the amphibious heavy
lift ship Tobruk and commanded the guided missile destroyer
Brisbane in the mid-1980s. During the Gulf Crisis and Gulf War
of 1990/1991, Ken Doolan was Maritime Commander, Australia
and in this role was Operational Commander of all Australian
combatant forces deployed to that conflict. He was appointed an
Officer in the Order of Australia in January 1991. Subsequently,
Ken has filled several remunerated and honorary positions,
including membership of the Defence Force Remuneration
Tribunal, National Secretary of the Order of Australia Association
and President of the Australian Institute of Navigation. He has
also written several books and established a publishing firm.
Admiral Doolan has also served for many years as a member of
the National Defence Committee of the Returned & Services
League of Australia (RSL).
Ken was elected to the position of National President of the
Returned & Services League of Australia in September 2009.
In the November of that year, he was appointed to the Council
of the Australian War Memorial and in March 2012 was elected
Chairman of the Council.

Bill Nelson is an elite international sporting coach
who has turned his knowledge of developing
peak team and individual performance into
a world-class corporate consultancy, Total
Performance Concepts Pty Ltd.
His business draws on his expertise and time as a multi-award
winning swim coach who has worked with the sport’s foremost
performers in such academies as the world-acclaimed Australian
Institute of Sport.
The success of his athletes took Bill to the Commonwealth
Games, World Championships and the Olympics, and elevated
him to Vice-Presidency of the World Swim Coaches Association.
During a distinguished career Bill has personally coached Daniel
Kowalski, Mathew Dunn, Scott Miller, Michael Klim, Nicole
Livingstone, Linley Frame and Duncan Armstrong. He was the
national event coach for distance swimming for the Australian
swimming team, a program that contained swimmers such as Ian
Thorpe, Kieren Perkins and Grant Hackett.

During this session Cameron Louis will explore
how gaming is relevant to the overall success
of clubs and how the capital deployment in
this area needs to continue to ensure that this
relevance remains pertinent. In parallel with this
Cameron will also give some insight into the future of gaming
and the evolution of the technologies that will assist in making
this success, of the past, continue.

He has provided team-building and performance-enhancement
services to Australian Football, Rugby League and Rugby Union
clubs and teams.
Bill was also a member of the coaching and management team
which steered the Sydney Kings basketball team to the National
Basketball League (NBL) crown in the 2003, 2004, 2005 seasons,
as well as Grand Final appearances in seasons 2006 and 2008.
He was also a consultant to Basketball Australia and the men’s
National team in preparation for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Alan Wilson will host a panel of experts to analyse the highs and
lows of the 2014 Footy Season.

On Friday 7 November the shuttle departs the Sheraton Mirage and
travels to Australia Fair. Coach departs Australia Fair every 20 minutes
past the hour, and travels onto Harbour Town. Then leaving Harbour
Town at 40 minutes past the hour, the coach will return to the Sheraton
Mirage. Last coach of the day leaves Australia Fair at 3.20pm / Harbour
Town at 3.40pm, returning to the Sheraton Mirage at 4.00pm.
