THE SERVICE OF WORD AND SACRAMENT
All Saints Sunday
“Welcome to this time of Worship.
As you enter our Sanctuary, take time to prepare your heart in quiet meditation, for Worship .”

For All The Saints
Prayer of Confession (Unison)
We confess, Lord, that sometimes we are not ready for worship. We may have hurried to
get here on time, and we’re still out of breath; we may have had harsh words with our
spouse, or children, or parents. Some of us are carrying a load of anger or guilt. So, we
ask that as we settle on these seats this morning, we will experience the peace of Your
Spirit and the assurance of Your presence. Transform us, so that we seek encouragement
to live a life patterned after Your Son, for we pray as he taught us…
Our Father who art in heaven
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the Kingdom
And the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
Assurance of Pardon
* The Gloria
Glory to God, glory to God,
glory to God in the highest!
Glory to God, glory to God,
Alleluia, alleluia!

Shout To The Lord
Shout to the Lord, all the earth, let us sing;
Power and majesty, praise to the King!
Mountains bow down and the seas will roar
At the sound of Your name.
I sing for joy at the work of Your hands,
Forever I’ll love You,
Forever I’ll stand.
Nothing compares to the promise I have in You. (Repeat)
The Lord’s Prayer
(Silent Prayer)
Lord, have mercy,
Lord, have mercy,
Lord, have mercy on us.

“A Christmas Carol” (1938) Rated G – 69 minutes
Both of these films deal with the gritty real world, which has some very unlikeable people in it,
and the need for ‘our being’ to be completely overhauled. This task is accomplished by
climbing out of the reality of life and into the world of the Spirit. This idea is the very symbol
of Christmas.
Please plan on joining us for both of these films, with discussion over lunch. Discussion sheets
are available on the table outside of the church office.

Give ear, O my people, to my teaching;
incline your ears to the words of my mouth.
I will open my mouth in a parable;
I will utter dark sayings from of old,
things that we have heard and known,
that our ancestors have told us.
We will not hide them from their children;
we will tell to the coming generation
the glorious deeds of the LORD, and his might,
and the wonders that he has done.
He established a decree in Jacob,
and appointed a law in Israel,
which he commanded our ancestors
to teach to their children;
that the next generation might know them,
the children yet unborn,
and rise up and tell them to their children,
so that they should set their hope in God,
and not forget the works of God,
but keep his commandments;
all ages!
