Emphasis on endurance. YMCA PIRANHA SWIM TEAM The Chippewa Valley Family YMCA has a competitive 90+ member swim team that is always looking for enthusiastic new swimmers! Our program begins in October and runs through mid-March. Swimmers range in age from 5 to 18. Each swimmer and their families decide how many practices to attend and which swim meets to go to. Practices are held for younger swimmers at the Y while the older swimmers are at the Middle School. The focus in swim team is on swimming technique. GROUP CYCLING The group cycling class is a high intensity cardiovascular workout performed to music on stationery bikes. An instructor leads the class through a variety of drills that simulate the different terrains one encounters on an outdoor bike ride. Easy to follow and can be modified for beginners. ZUMBA FITNESS A fitness party that fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic workout that will blow you away. BASIC FITNESS Basic low impact class designed especially for someone that has not participated in fitness classes before. Includes various basic aerobic exercise and/or strength and flexibility training. EARLY BIRD FITNESS This class is designed to enhance all aspects of fitness without choreography. Volleyball on Fridays. Class meets on the walk/run track. The cardio portion takes place outdoors during the summer. CARDIO COMBAT Here is a no nonsense cardio class using kicks, punches, boot camp style drills to burn calories, build endurance and strengthen muscles. TRAIN FOR LIFE A program with a goal to help those that have struggled with their personal fitness accomplishments and/or have had other obstacles that have slowed down or affected their progress. You have thirty bingo squares with different YMCA fun and fitness activities to complete. Sessions will focus on introducing basic fundamentals of basketball and having fun. All participants will receive a YMCA Little Dribblers T-shirt. For children in grades K-1. BIG DRIBBLERS Is an introduction to playing organized basketball. Participants will build on their little dribbler skills and get experience playing the game of basketball. Learn the fundamentals of basketball as well as competing in games. Each player receives a Big Dribblers Team T-shirt. For children in grades 2-4. SOCCER SKILLS Come and be taught by veteran coach Sandra Herbenson. Coach Herbenson will work on all phases of the game and improve your skills and confidence with the ball. Skill sessions are designed for boys and girls grades K-5. EXPLORING BALLET A fun introductory pre-ballet class for ages 2 1/2 to 6. Children will develop coordination, balance, poise and rhythm awareness while also exploring creative movement. GIRLS CLUB Y Girls’ is a club just for girls. Club activities will include manicures, nail painting, fashion shows, movie nights, cooking, flag-football, and much more. All activities will have a focus on developing self-esteem and healthy self-image in young girls. Join us every week as we grow in friendship and have fun! Ages 8-12. Traditional fun is also available with a pool table, foosball, rod hockey, Xbox 360 and TV. Open to families and youths 8-19 years of age. Children under 7 must be accompanied by persons 18 years and older. LOCK-INS This is for Youth Groups, Churches, School Groups, Community Groups and Family Gatherings. The YMCA provides: a room, use of the pool with a lifeguard, gym, racquetball courts and Youth/Teen Room. You bring the treats, decorations and clean-up. Adult supervision required.
