Welcome to
Social Communications
“We are an exciting consultation, PR and
creative agency with years of experience
in the UK’s housing, property, regeneration,
retail and energy sectors.
“We’re immensely proud of our
award-winning and innovative
company which is helping
developers across the country
engage with a variety of
audiences on schemes
ranging from major new
housing developments and
supermarkets to wind farms
and anaerobic digestion plants.
“We’re often told that Social
Communications provides
a different offer to our
competitors; we are ‘people
people’, with a natural ability to
work with politicians and local
communities alike, helping
them to articulate their support
for planning applications in
new and creative ways. Our
PR and creative skills mean we
make the most of opportunities
in the media and online, and
we support and advise in the
difficult moments when our
clients need us most.
“We must be doing something
right if the RTPI and the TCPA
have asked us to speak at their
conferences on consultation
and communication in the
digital age.
“So if you’re looking for a
creative consultation, PR and
public affairs agency that
values partnerships and is results
driven, we’d be delighted to
talk to you.”

the skills and personality to make a proposal a success.
We engage the silent majority and give them a voice –
demonstrating local support to the politicians who make
planning decisions.
Our team has managed NSIP programmes and
consultation campaigns for the UK’s biggest names in
retail, housing and energy – consistently delivering results
for clients including Tesco, RWE Innogy UK (formerly
RWE npower Renewables), Places for People, Marshalls,

Housing
New Garden Cities are on
the national agenda and all
political parties agree that the UK
desperately needs more housing. The
challenge remains to engage local
communities - experience that we
provide on schemes ranging from
small housing proposals to large,
mixed-use masterplans.
Retail
With over 40 supermarket
consultations under our belts, our
team knows retail inside-out. We’ve
helped create supporter newsletters,
Facebook groups, local supplier
events, community focus groups and
much more for retail schemes of all
sizes across the country.
Energy
In a changing energy landscape,
communities find themselves faced
with wind turbines, AD plants, solar
farms and more. Getting your
consultation right and reaching your
supporters is critical. We consistently
engage a younger audience,
ensuring their voices are heard in the
planning process.

housing challenge
Six new villages
There is a national housing crisis. There are simply not enough homes for people to live
in right across the country and Harlow and East Herts are no exceptions. In fact there is a
huge shortage of homes locally and the Government requires local authorities to plan for
how they can address this crisis.
The Gilston Park Estate site is within East Herts
District Council with a small part in Harlow
District Council, crossing the River Stort.

By 2031:
• East Herts District Council has forecast that it needs to build at least

(increasing to at least 15,000 homes to fully regenerate Harlow)

Gilston Park Estate
We are proposing a series of villages built
around Gilston Park, each one separated by
green space, providing up to 10,000 of the
homes needed locally.
Each village will have its own centre and
distinctive character, with all homes designed
to the highest standards of quality and
environmental efficiency.
Places for People want to create new
communities that will offer local young
couples, families and first time buyers a range
of options to buy, rent or a combination of
both.
We also plan to provide homes for older people
from the local area who want to be near to
their families, close to their grandchildren, their
GP and their friends.
Places for People want to create real
communities; not row after row of identikit
housing.
