The International School of Helsingborg invites you to the IB – Diploma Programme. This
globally recognized programme is a two-year academically holistic international upper secondary
educational programme. IB diploma candidates are sought out by universities worldwide. It
forms an excellent foundation for further university education abroad (USA, Canada, UK, Europe)
and in Sweden. With the language of instruction in English, the programme aims to develop
internationally minded people. The IB – Diploma mission is to provide students with a basis to
continue successfully in life and to achieve their best in whatever they choose to do.

behöver för en framtida karriär i Sverige och utomlands. IB-utbildningen är både välkänd och
erkänd över hela världen. Den ger en utmärkt grund för universitets- och högskolestudier
utomlands såväl som i Sverige. Genom att undervisa på engelska strävar vi efter att utveckla
världsmedborgare som genom sin utbildning verkar för att skapa en bättre och fredligare värld.
Programmet har funnits runt om i världen sedan 1968.
Welcome to The International
School of Helsingborg
ISH was established in 1995 to answer a growing demand for a truly international
education at the Primary and Secondary levels.
ISH startade 1995 i syfte att möta ett växande behov av riktig internationell
utbildning för barn i förskola och elever i grund- och gymnasieskola.

Today, we have approximately 540 students between 3 and 19 years of age attending our Pre-school,
Primary School, Middle School and Diploma Programme with International Baccalaureate.
Our teachers come from almost twenty different countries all over the world, and the same goes for our
students. Our Pre, Primary and Middle schools are located in our own building at Östra Vallgatan 9. These
programmes offer an alternative for international families who are residing in the Helsingborg region on a
temporary basis, or for those moving overseas.
Our Diploma Program is located in a separate building at Nicolai School at Studievägen 2, and is an excellent
choice for all students, Swedish or International, looking to further their studies abroad or in Sweden once they
graduate.
In 2015 we are celebrating our 20th anniversary. Parents, students and guests are welcome to our Open House.

Idag, har vi ungefär 540 elever i åldrarna 3 till 19 år, fördelade på vår förskola, grundskola och gymnasium
(IB – International Baccalaureate).
Våra lärare kommer från ungefär 20 länder i hela världen, och det gör också våra elever. Vår för- och grundskola
har vi i våra egna lokaler på Östra Vallgatan 9. Dessa program erbjuder ett alternativ för internationella/utländska
familjer som bor tillfälligt i Helsingborgsregionen och som har för avsikt att flytta vidare till något annat land igen.
Vårt gymnasieprogram (IB) har vi i en egen del av Nicolaiskolan på Studievägen 2, och detta är ett utmärkt
val för gymnasieelever, svenska eller utländska, som tänker sig studera vidare utomlands efter att de klarat
sin examen på IB.
2015 firar vi vårt 20 års jubileum med att bjuda in föräldrar, elever och andra intresserade till öppet hus.

Gymnasie curriculum
Who can apply to study the IB – Diploma Programme at the International School of Helsingborg?
The school is open to all students who have completed Grade 9 in Sweden (grundskola) or have
similar qualifications from another country.
The International School of Helsingborg är öppet för alla elever som gått ut åk 9.
UK
MYP 5 (Åk1)
The MYP 5 year prepares students for further studies
of the IB – Diploma Programme. Students from the
Swedish school system will improve their spoken
and written proficiency in the English language while
studying a broad range of subjects. In the spring term
students choose six subjects to study for the IB –
Diploma Programme.
DP 1 and DP 2 (Åk 2–3)
The two-year programme is an academically challenging and balanced one. It leads to an IB Diploma which
is recognized as an indicator of academic excellence
and accepted by universities and other higher educational institutions worldwide.
Students study subjects, one from each of the six
subject groups: three studied at higher level and
three at standard level. In addition there are three
core elements that are compulsory and central to the
philosophy of the IB – Diploma Programme: Theory of
Knowledge, Extended Essay, and participation in CAS
(Creativity, Action, Service).
After IB
The International School of Helsingborg has an excellent international college placement service resulting
in many of our students continuing to further their
education abroad. Colleges are seeking IB graduates,
and as a result more university financial aid is available
to ISH graduates.
Admissions
Apply as you would for any programme in the Swedish
educational system. Your grades from ‘9th grade’ combined with entrance tests in Mathematics and English
along with an interview, are the entrance requirements.

Kursplaner Åk 1
Ditt första år förbereder dig för de följande studierna
på IB – Diploma Programme. Undervisningsspråket är
engelska vilket ger dig möjlighet att utveckla din engelska i både tal och skrift medan du läser ett brett urval
av ämnen. Under vårterminen väljer du sedan dina sex
ämnen som du ska läsa på IB – Diploma Programme.
Kursplaner Åk 2–3
IB – Diploma Programme är ett tvåårigt gymnasieprogram som ger både bredd och djup inom dina
ämnen. Vilka dina planer för framtiden än är så kan du
genom IB – Diploma Programme hitta en väg vidare.
Du väljer sex ämnen, tre läses på Higher Level och
tre på Standard Level. Det ingår tre kärnämnen som
är obligatoriska för alla: en kurs i kunskapsteori, en
större uppsats samt deltagande i CAS-programmet
(Creativity, Action, Service).
Efter utbildningen
De flesta av våra studenter fortsätter att läsa vidare på
universitet och högskolor både i Sverige, Storbritannien
och i andra länder. Därför bor och arbetar flera av våra
gamla elever utomlands.
Antagning
Ansök precis som till vilket annat gymnasieprogram
som helst. Ditt betyg från åk 9 tillsammans med tester
i engelska och matematik samt en intervju utgör
antagningskriterier. En IB-student strävar efter att
vara ifrågasättande, kunnig, tänkande, kommunikativ,
principiell, fördomsfri, omtänksam, risktagande,
balanserad och reflekterande.

Working as a TV host at SVT – best known for ”Sommarlov” but also works as a musician,
mainly with poetry and hip hop, in a band called S.T.I.C.S.
