Year 11 Media Studies Students at a Secret Hollywood Film Location
In Media Studies one of our pieces of controlled assessment is to make the opening to a
thriller film. We each allocated ourselves different roles. I was the director, Kia Tinsley the
editor, Lucy Swift the camerawoman and Sophie Swift the actress.
We all visited a secret film location in Essex to do the shooting. I was lucky enough to have
privileged access to this. The location has been used to shoot many Hollywood films and
music videos due to its eerie, post apocalyptic qualities. Hopefully the resulting opening
sequence of our film `Missing` will reflect this. We have all really enjoyed producing this piece
of work and look forward to others sharing their opinions in future celebration assemblies.

NON-UNIFORM DAY
We are holding a non-uniform day on Friday, 5 December in support of the
Huntington's Disease Association. Students are requested to wear something
seasonal or festive!
Students are asked to donate a minimum of £1 which
will be collected during morning registration. Students
should be sure to wear clothes appropriate to a day in school – no
fancy dress and no designs that could be offensive to any sector of our
community and no spray dyed hair, glitter or face paint please. Trainers
may be worn but all other health, safety and security rules apply to
footwear and jewellery. Students may, of course, wear school uniform
if they wish.
Thank you for your support of this worthwhile charity.
