♦ Bartow Co. Sheriff's Deputies responded to Pre-Owned Jeep
♦ SUSPECTS SOUGHT IN ATM THEFT
Just after 3:00 a.m. Thursday, Adairsville Police received a broken window alarm at the Cracker Barrel, Highway 140, Adairsville.
Before that it's believed the suspects broke a door at Ace Hardware,
Highway 41. Officers determined this was a diversionary tactic. A
passerby called 911 and said a forklift was attempting to remove a
ATM from Bank of the Ozarks, Highway 140, Adairsville. The
suspects were able to get the ATM machine in the back of the truck
and flee. Officers spotted the red pickup truck on I-75 south and
pursued the vehicle. When the suspects realized police were behind
them they crashed the vehicle near the Cass White Road exit and ran
into the woods. Bartow County and Adairsville K9's were called in
to search for the three white male subjects. A search ensued involving Bartow County Sheriff's Deputies, Adairsville Police, and the
Georgia State Patrol. The truck, ATM and the money was recovered. The pickup truck had been stolen while parked at Somerset
Club Apartments in Cartersville sometime Tuesday night or Wednesday morning. Adairsville Police would like to give a special thank
you to the concerned citizen who called 911. This kind of teamwork
between citizens and law enforcement led to the recovery of the items.

♦ The Leapfrog Group which does a survey based mostly on Medicare records released a survey on hospital safety. Wellstar Kennestone
got a grade B. Gwinnett Medical Center got a C. Northside got an A
as did Emory University Hospital. Piedmont Hospital and Grady
Hospital both got a D. Piedmont Hospital said the survey is using
outdated information.
♦ GeorgiaCarry.org said one of its members was asked to leave
the Atlanta Botanical Gardens because he was wearing a licensed
handgun. The gun rights group and Phillip Evans of Gwinnett County
filed a lawsuit. Georgia Carry said "it's an infringement of the Second Amendment for them not to allow us to protect ourselves on
that property." Botanical Gardens president Mary Matheson said
they have control over their property.
