The successful candidate will take over full responsibility for the lead area of Absent Voting at the time when the existing job holder retires. Electoral Services is responsible for the management of all Parliamentary, European Parliamentary and local elections and referendums within the local authority area, as well as administering the electoral registration process. The work of the team includes planning, developing and implementing statutory procedures surrounding the registration of electors and absent voters along with the administration of free and fair elections and referendums in accordance with legislation. The electoral registration process is undergoing a major transformation, we are developing new processes and joint working initiatives with a number of other council services and we are starting our preparation for the next combined elections (UK Parliamentary, District and Parish).
