100 Miles in 100 Days Walking Challenge
November 21- March 1
Whether you missed the challenge this past
spring, or you are looking to continue to
challenge yourself, here’s another chance to join
walkers who live or work in Rutland County to
walk one mile every day for 100 days. Walk for
your health, walk for fun, walk for 100 days!

National Hospice Month
Special Screening of “The Bucket List”
November 2 ~ 6:30pm
Paramount Theatre
Center Street, Rutland, VT
This classic movie is a story of two terminally ill
men who head off on a road trip with a wish list
of to-dos before they die. Refreshments and a
discussion will follow the film. Hang your own
wish list on the live Rutland Community
Bucket Tree. The Bucket Tree will be planted
within the Rutland community at the end of
hospice month. You can also place your own
bucket list in colourful buckets all around
Rutland. Your list will be added to the tree.
“The Art of Dying” Opening Exhibit
November 7 ~ 5pm
Chaffee Art Center, 16 South Main Street, Rutland
Rutland Area Visiting Nurse Association &
Hospice and Rutland Regional Medical Center
have partnered with the Chaffee Art Center to
present this exhibit.
Various artists come together to display their
works. Opening night will feature the Hospice
Trillium Singers. Refreshments will follow.
The show closes December 5.
Death by Chocolate Death Café

What’s Cookin’ Rutland?
Support meetings for breastfeeding mothers. Meets
the first Wednesday of the month, 10:30am-12pm at

and tips, hosted by the Rutland County Nutrition

An Evidence-Based Prevention Program designed to
address high risk and destructive behaviors and
promote wellness in young people and adults. Focus
is on learning good communication skills. Programs

Rutland Area Visiting Nurse Association &
Hospice (RAVNAH)
• Cholesterol Screening
The first Wednesday of each month, a total lipid
profile and comprehensive cholesterol and glucose
screening is offered at the RAVNAH office, 7 Albert
Cree Drive, Rutland, beginning at 8:30am. The total
lipid profile requires an 8-12 hour fast prior to the test
to ensure accurate results. The cost is $30. Please

• Advance Health Care Planning Help
A free toolkit from RAVNAH called Conversation
Starter Guide, containing a variety of easy-to-use selfhelp worksheets. To arrange a presentation on this
