"How silently they tumble down
And come to rest upon the ground
To lay a carpet, rich and rare,
Beneath the trees without a care,
Content to sleep, their work well done,
Colors gleaming in the sun.
At other times, they wildly fly
Until they nearly reach the sky.
Twisting, turning through the air
Till all the trees stand stark and bare.
Exhausted, drop to earth below
To wait, like children, for the snow."

From Nursing
To All Residents and Staff:
It is fall season and temperatures are getting cooler. Well it is Texas, so let’s just say ‘‘not
so hot”. As our residents get older, and also some of our not so elderly staff, they become more
sensitive to cool temperatures. So when heaters are first turned on for the season, expect that
funky smell for an hour or so. We try to maintain a comfortable temperature in the facility all
year round. As most people have roommates, it can become somewhat of a competition because
one person may want it cool, and the other may want it warm. For those who want an extra blanket, or perhaps one from home, we will be happy to help. If you have someone bring an heirloom
quilt, you may prefer to have family wash it when needed, so it can be washed on a gentle cycle or
even by hand. Our large industrial machines may be a little rough on antique quilts.
Another thing to consider is that you have a heater on the wall of your room, so please don’t bring electric heaters or electric blankets from home; they are a fire hazard. Also, they may get so hot that
they cause a burn if touched accidently.

Administrators Corner
As most of you are aware, Twilight Home held a Fall Festival on
Thursday, October 23rd. The turnout was overwhelming as we fed around 350
-400 people. It was great to see all ages ranging from newborns to those in their
90’s. Byron Haynie and Kristy Driscol graced us with their outstanding vocal
ability while Diana Castillo led the attendants in Zumba. Carey Dean from
106.9 The Ranch showed up and donated a substantial door prize, and Alicia
Rogers was our resident clown. Hot dogs, nachos, cotton candy, and drinks
were provided. A variety of games kept all the children entertained while
many of the staff members participated in the dunking booth. The Navarro
College Occupational Therapy Assistant students were a huge help by organizing the games. A bounce house was a main attraction thanks to Fun Jump as
well as photos with a fire truck by Kay Cummins . This was a great community event that was a huge success. Thank you to TEAM TWILIGHT for all the
effort put in to make this great for our residents, families, and staff. A special
thank you to Chasity Long and Gloria Medina for their leadership roles with
the Festival as well as the local Hospice and Home Health agencies for their
assistance. I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving and hope to see ya’ll soon

Senior Olympics turned out to be really great! The weather became nice as the sun
came out. The pumpkins toss was my favorite. Seeing the residents throw the pumpkins as
hard as they could was hilarious. The residents were catching fish left and right.
November is my favorite time of the year. It is a time when families get together and
talk about all the wonderful memories we have all had growing up. Please stop by and visit
your loved one; it brightens their day. Also, we will be having our Thanksgiving dinner this year
on November 20th at 5pm. We will have Mrs. Cummings here to take pictures of you and
your loved one, be sure you get your picture taken before you leave.
If you would like to make a donation please take to the business office and make all check
payable Twilight Activities.
