ANNIVERSARIES

What are you thankful for this holiday season?
As the days get shorter and the weather gets colder, excitement builds in
anticipation of
the celebrations sure to
come during
the Thanksgiving and
Christmas
seasons. During this time
of year, we
tend to take more opportunities to reflect on the blessings in our lives that
we are most thankful for.
and many find that their health improves significantly once they move in
and become part of
the Primrose family.
For most, they are
thankful simply to
call this retirement
community their
home. Many married couples live at
Primrose communities across the country, and they are
thankful for one another and for the
years of unconditional love they have
received from their spouses, whether
they deserved it or not. One resident
even said “The second best decision I
ever made in my life was moving to
Primrose with my wife – the best decision was marrying her in the first
place!”
So what is it that you are thankful for
this season? Perhaps it is family. At
Primrose, our residents cherish the opportunity to be with their loved ones –
and since all their needs are taken care
of – they can truly enjoy their time together, free from any distractions.
There are many things we have to be

NOTE FROM THE ADMINISTRATOR
I am always grateful for the things that I consider
“blessings” in my life. Sometimes, it is just as important to remember that the things that test our patience or faith because they can also be considered to
be blessings with a little time and space.
Last month I told you about the physical challenges of
my son Nelson’s injury and treatment, this month, I
share with you some perspective on that with this
quote by Richelle Goodrich.
“Every once in a while God allows you to stub
your toe as a kind reminder to be grateful for
the miraculous body attached to it.”
Thank you for your kind thoughts and regard for my
son’s condition, for the gentleness you extend to your
fellow residents and the sense of community that you
all bring to Primrose Retirement Community.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all.
-Melissa Nelson
RESIDENT SPOTLIGHT
Marian Wulff was born in Norfolk, Nebraska and was married
to her best friend, fishing buddy
& hunting partner; her late husband Goldie Wulff for 67 “very
happy” years. Marian moved to
Primrose Retirement Community
5 years ago & on November 6th,
Marian will be 100 years young.
She will celebrate this birthday
with a delightful spirit and humble perspective on the gift of
“living life” every day.
Some of her favorite memories
are of days pent running various businesses with her husband in
West Point, Nebraska, Redfield and Huron, South Dakota and
enjoying the fishing in NE South Dakota at a home they built on
Pickeral Lake and hunting on land they owned near Browns Valley, MN. Their friends often marveled at Marian and Goldie
working together and then spending all their free time together
hunting, fishing and enjoying the lake, but “we were made for
each other" said Marian.
EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT
Darija Jovahavic is one of the new cooks at Primrose.
She brings 7 years of experience to us and is a valued
member of the Dietary Team. She has been married to
Aleksander for 14 years & has a daughter and a son.
Her hobbies are cooking and shopping. She enjoys coming to work at Primrose to interact with the residents
and the staff. Her sense of humor and spirit of teamwork are a delight for her co-workers. Her fondest
memory is of a trip back home to Bosnia with her family and the opportunity to stay in the
home she was raised
in. Her smile is always “at the ready”
so, let’s all give Darija a big welcome to
Primrose.
HAPPENINGS AT PRIMROSE
November 11th is
Veterans Day. Please
remember those who
have served our country and provided the
freedoms we all enjoy. God Bless America, and God Bless our
Veterans.
Variety is the key word for our November entertainment.
We will have the Dancing Divas singing and dancing, The
Crabgrass Crew, a folk and blue grass group, The SD Symphony String Quartet, Bruce Dysthe a powerful vocalist,
and Abiding Savior’s Men’s Chorus. Any one of these
Entertainers would be great to have in a month, but to
have all of them, is a Thanksgiving Blessing.
Please join us, you are guaranteed to have a good time.
