Thanks to the generous donation of the Brockton Library Foundation the Lingos Auditorium has been rewired for a bigger and better viewing experience. To inaugurate this new system, Sons of Italy, Christopher Columbus Lodge 216 will host the first of its series of Italian themed movies with Life is Beautiful. The movie stars Oscar award winning, Roberto Benigni who also directed the film. Please join Suzanne Jarnagin’s free holiday paper craft program, November 20,35 p.m. All the materials you will need to make unique cards and tags will be provided. This poignant story of a father sheltering his son from the reality of a Nazi death camp by clever story telling and a convincing ruse demonstrates the highest value of familial love. KRU RAW ARTWORK BY Jo Velhinho and Soraia Melicio Movimentu Shokanti presents two very different visions in the art work of Jo Velhino and Soraia Melicio. From November 10-December 1 their art will grace the walls of the Joseph A. Driscoll Gallery at Brockton Public Library on 304 Main Street. Meet the artists on November 25, at an art reception 5-8 p.m. November 2014 Of Special Interest: The next Brockton Public Library Book Group will meet in the Trustees Room on November 22, 10 a.m.-noon, to discuss the book Ghana Must Go by Taiye Selasi. New members are always welcome. The Council on Aging Book Group will meet on November 10, 10 a.m.-noon to discuss The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin. Children’s Activities STORY HOUR (Ages 3-6) A weekly preschool story/craft program will be held at the main library on Wednesdays, November 5-December 10 from 10:30-11:15 a.m. Please sign up in the Children's Room. TIME FOR TWOS - A program for two year olds and their parent/ caregiver that includes stories, nursery rhymes, fingeplays,songs, and simple activities. It continues at the main library on Thursdays, November 6-December 11 (except for November 27) from 10:30 a.m. -11:15 a.m. Please sign up in the Children’s Room. WEST BRANCH WALK-IN CRAFTS (Kindergarten-Grade 6) - Children can visit the West Branch every Wednesday anytime between 2-7 p.m. to work on a craft project. EAST BRANCH WALK-IN CRAFTS (Ages 5 and up) Children can visit the East Branch every Thursday anytime between 3-7 p.m. to work on a craft project. BABY SIGN This introduction helps parents to better communicate with their infants, toddlers and preschools through the use of basic American Sign Language. The program is sponsored by South Bay Early Intervention and will be held on Friday, November 14 at 10:30 a.m. LITTLE PENGUIN: PORORO’S RACING ADVENTURE Pororo and friends enter the Super Sled Race in Northopia.
