cPanel installation guide for CloudFlare Certified Partners Installation Using an SSH client such as Terminal or Putty: 1. Access cPanel for the server using root user by: ssh root@SERVER IP ADDRESS or SERVER NAME 2. bash <(curl -s https://raw.githubusercontent.com/cloudflare/CloudFlareCPanel/master/cloudflare.install.sh) $HOST_API_KEY '$YOUR_COMPANY_NAME' $HOST_API_KEY will look similar to 56yt8x9s987dfy4324bnv. ‘$YOUR_COMPANY_NAME’ should be wrapped in quotes like so ‘Awesome Hosting’ 3. This will start the installation. The cPanel Plugin files are installed first, followed by mod_cloudflare. Depending on your server, it will take between 15 seconds and 4 minutes. You know it will be done when you see: CloudFlare module installed successfully 4. CloudFlare is now successfully added to this server. You need to repeat the process for each additional server (unless you have an automatic update script). At the end of the installation, you should see output like below. A successful install will show your company name in the output: { "host_key":"dcc508000df8e515c5d7af6238f78b75 -", "host_formal_name":"KAMILLA", "host_name":"api.cloudflare.com", "host_uri":"/host-gw.html", "user_name":"www.cloudflare.com", "user_uri":"/api_json.html", "host_port":"443", "host_prefix":"cloudflare-resolve-to", "cloudflare_on_message":"It worked! CloudFlare is being activated for your site. This will take up to 5 minutes. In the meantime, you can choose your CloudFlare Settings below.", "cp_version":"2.3" } * This plugin provisions CloudFlare via delegating CNAMEs. Your customers continue to point their domain to your authoritative DNS servers. You do the delegation for them via this plugin. Note: this is different than websites that sign up at cloudflare.com directly. Since CloudFlare works through CNAMEs, CloudFlare cannot be enabled on the root domain, which is an A record. If your customer wants to use CloudFlare to accelerate and protect traffic going to the root domain, they need to add a redirect in the .htaccess file to 'www' or consider signing up directly on CloudFlare.
