What is a tricky tray?
A tricky tray is a fundraiser in which items are displayed in basket trays and you place
your purchased tickets in a bucket next to the item for a chance to win that item.
Generally, baskets are valued at $25 to $50 for a “small” basket, $50 to $100 for a
“medium” basket, $100 to $200 for a “Large” basket and over $300 for a “Mega or
Grand Prize” basket. Tickets are priced accordingly for each category. At a specific time
in the evening, the basket or trays are raffled off by the spokesperson that randomly
chooses a ticket out of the bucket for each tray. The winner is presented with their
“tray”.
Our Tricky Tray in past years has drawn hundreds in attendance. Last year there were
over 200 baskets including 2 Disney World passes with a Time Share.
In the past the Tricky Tray raised between $15,000 and $20,000 after expenses. The
funds were used to largely help our senior class enjoy a safe night at IPlay America, as
well as purchase items for them.
How can you get involved?
PLEASE attend our "Project Graduation" meetings. We are a well-oiled machine, still
looking for volunteers. Our next meeting is Monday, November 3, at 6:30 PM at
Spotswood High School, in the Health Room, #103.
There are many different ways of getting involved. Right now, we are focusing on asking
for donations from local businesses. We have many businesses that donated last year
and most likely will do so again this year if they are contacted. We are looking for and
asking individuals to take as little as one business name off the list and contact them.
Please contact Jackie Bonacci at [email protected] if you are willing to visit a local
business.
If your family regularly purchases from a particular business, it would be greatly
beneficial for you to ask for a donation from them. If you spend money at their business,
they will be more likely to make a donation. We ask for any new items, gift certificates or
monetary donations. The tricky tray may seem like a long way off but you can let these
businesses know that we want to make sure we highlight their business in our program
properly and that the donation is made in time to be listed in the program.
This form is attached to this packet. Extras are available by emailing Janine LoGatto at

We strongly encourage each family to donate one basket to help support this worthwhile
fundraiser. We have 160 students in SHS Senior Class of 2015. If every family donated
(1) basket and contacted 2 businesses (perhaps where you work and one other
business that you shop at anyway), then we would have a successful fundraiser!

160 SHS (student) Families = 160 Baskets
Each family contacts two businesses = 320 Baskets
480 Baskets = Successful Tricky Tray!
Don’t have time to shop for a tray to donate?
If you don’t have the time to go out and purchase items to make a basket or just don’t
have time to put energy into thinking of what to buy, we accept monetary donations and
will shop for you! We will make great selections for you, make your dollars go far, and
feature your name on the basket which we purchased with your money! How much do
you send in? We accept any amount. There is no set dollar amount, whatever you are
able to and feel comfortable donating.
We are accepting donations now…
Both business and family donations for the Tricky Tray are already being delivered and
accepted. Any donations/monetary donations can be dropped off at any time at;

YOU MUST MARK YOUR DONATION WITH YOUR NAME!
Feel free to place your items in a basket or nice container or just drop off the items and
a basket will be put together and wrapped for you. Those of you who have attended our
tricky tray in the past know the quality of the baskets we raffle off. We accept only
donations of new items. We truly appreciate all items donated! When dropping off
donations, please let us know the value of your basket. If we are unsure of the value,
we may under value your basket just because we just don’t know and are guessing.
Thank you so much for your time and lets work together to make the “Class of 2015” a
great year for our kids.
Best Regards,

Dear Business Owner:
PROJECT GRADUATION began at Spotswood High School in 1992 for the graduation of Helmetta,
Milltown and Spotswood. These communities wanted to offer their senior graduates a place to
meet and have fun at a substance-free event.
This year’s PROJECT GRADUATION has been scheduled for June 12, 2015 at I-Play America in
Freehold, NJ. The facility is available for the graduates to use all night. Food and entertainment in
various forms will be provided at no cost to the students.
The cost of last year’s PROJECT GRADUATION was approximately $30,000.00. We are asking for
your assistance in joining other corporate and local businesses in supporting this worthwhile
program. Monetary donations will help defray costs incurred in making the event a success. There
are several levels of support as described in the attached informational form. Donations of
merchandise will be used as raffle prizes for our basket/item auction (also known as a tricky tray) to
be held on Friday, January 30, 2015. Any and all gift certificates or gift basket items would be
greatly appreciated. Please give your donation to your Project Graduation representative or send
your donation to:

Your timely response would be greatly appreciated so that we may plan the most entertaining
evening for our graduating seniors. Your donations are tax deductible. Donation deadline is
December 15, 2014.
We thank you in advance for your participation in helping the SPOTSWOOD HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF
2015 spend a memorable last evening together in a safe and secure environment before these
young adults venture their separate ways to fulfill their goals and dreams.
Please feel free to call us with any questions or if you require any additional information. Thank you
in advance for your generous consideration.
Sincerely,
Janine LoGatto, President
