Mission Statement
We, the Parish Family of Saint Valentine, are a Roman Catholic Community within the local church of the Archdiocese of Newark. The
celebration of the Mass and the Sacraments is central to our identity as a parochial community which worships God in fellowship with family,
neighbors and friends. Sharing the Eucharist empowers us to be a sign of the Kingdom of God present among us, yet ever becoming more a
reality, as we follow Christ, proclaiming his Gospel and witnessing to his teaching. Through liturgical worship and the ministries of the Church,
we are enabled to love each other in our service of God. THEREFORE, we the Parish Community of Saint Valentine, are dedicated to serving
others within and outside ourselves, as we strive to deepen our own commitment to the Lord and to announce the Good News of salvation in
Christ.

A MESSAGE FROM
THE PASTOR’S DESK
Dear Parishioners:
Thank you very much for all your
warm welcome and good wishes. I look
forward to getting to know each one of
you, and to coming to love and serve
you in our St Valentine’s family.
Please forgive me if I cannot remember
all your names. My brain capacity for
facial recognition is weak (some might
call it stupidity).
I am very impressed by the number of
volunteers who help out in various
ways. I thank you and encourage you in
your various ministries.
The Gospel this week tells us of the
talents that God has entrusted to each
one of us. As we cooperate with God
and use the gifts that He has given us,
his Holy Spirit magnifies, expands in us
and our capacity for loving, forgiving
and caring increases.
I look forward to growing with you in
the Love of God.
Yours in Christ,
Fr Basil

THANKSGIVING DAY MASS
We invite you to join us on Thanksgiving Day
for the 9am Mass in Church. Share your
blessings with the less fortunate by bringing
non-perishable food items for the presentation
of the gifts. The entire congregation will be
invited to participate in the procession and
present their food offerings individually
during Mass. This food will be distributed to
the needy in our area. As you leave Mass, take
home a loaf of blessed bread and a prayer of
blessing which you can use at your own
