for inventing blue light-emitting diodes (LEDs). He shared the prize with Japanese materials

Prof Bo Monemar, IFM Semiconductor Materials, Linköping University Bo Monemar is an emeritus professor since 2009, but still working actively in research projects, half of the time at IFM (Prof Janzéns group) and the other half at Lund University, Solid State Physics (Prof Samuelsons group). The research is mainly concerned with III‐
nitrides and other wide bandgap materials. Most of the work concerns optical investigations, such as stationary and transient photoluminescence spectroscopy, in order to gain an improved understanding of the materials properties. "Nitride thin films as novel thermoelectrics"
Assoc Prof Per Eklund, IFM Thin Film Physics, Linköping University Per Eklund is head of the Energy Materials Group of the Thin Film Physics Division at Linköping University. His research interests encompass the wider area of thin‐film ceramics for energy applications. He holds an ERC Starting Grant and the Future Research Leaders Grant from the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research, and is elected member of the Young Academy of Sweden. “Revealing electronic properties of nitride heterostructures using

Assoc Prof Vanya Darakchieva, IFM Semiconductor Materials, Linköping University Vanya Darakchieva is head of the Terahertz materials and advanced ellipsometry group, which hosts the only THz ellipsometer in Europe. Her research focuses on the development of novel semiconductor and nanoscale materials, and spectroscopic metrology for ultra‐fast electronics and optoelectronics. She holds a Future Research Leaders Grant and an Infrastructure Fellowship from the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research.
