Dear Parents,
We would like to Congratulate Mrs Sarah Walker (formerly Gerecke) and her husband
Brett on the birth of their first child, a beautiful and healthy baby girl named Zahlee Ava
Walker.
An important reminder to all members of the Coburn community to be safe and patient
on the roads around our school. On Monday of this week there was an accident on Richard Road and it is very lucky that no one was seriously hurt. We have a large student
population now which means a high volume of traffic at both school drop off and pick up
times. We all need to remain patient and obey the road rules and signage for the safety
of all in our community but particularly of course for our students. One thing that we
have put in place to help with this is extending the car park at the rear of the school and
electronic gates have been installed. This area is now for staff parking only, with the
aim of getting more staff cars off the surrounding streets to free up more spaces for you.
Thank you to the members of our community and the students who participated in the
Djerriwarrh Festival last weekend. A special thanks also to the staff who helped organise
and prepare our students before the event and spent their Saturday to support the
event and our students – 3 Coburn Claps!

As outlined in the previous newsletter, planning is well underway for the 2015 school
year. If you are moving house and your child will not be returning to Coburn next year
please put this in writing and inform our school office. This will help with our planning.
On Saturday November 29 Coburn Primary School will be a voting location for the State
Election. We are asking for community support to run a sausage sizzle fundraiser on this
day. If you are able to come and help cook and serve sausages please complete the tear
off slip on page two of this newsletter.

REMEMBRANCE DAY
11th of November 2014
This week the Junior School Councillors and I were
privileged to attend the Remembrance Day Service.
We listened attentively to the many speakers. They
spoke with such warmth about the fallen soldiers
who fought in World War 1. Many lost their lives for
our freedom and many Australian families were
affected. It was a great experience to have the chance
to show respect and wear a poppy. Lest we forget.
