IWA Sveriges årsmöte och seminarieaf ton
Den 18 november arrangerade IWA Sveriges tillsammans med Sweco en eftermiddag på temat
Smarta städer. Vi fick bland annat lära oss att sensorer och realtidsstyrning kommer revolutionera
hanteringen av våra VA-anläggningar i framtiden, på vilket sätt vägen till ett hållbart samhälle går via
smartare städer, samt hur IWAs konferens Cities of the future ska verka för en integrerad
planeringsprocess med ett ökat fokus på vatten i staden. Kvällen avslutades med mingel och
samkväm.
Utl ysning för konf erensbidrag till HSM 2016 – deadline 7 januari
Slamhantering är ett stort och viktigt område och nästa år arrangeras IWAs andra internationella
konferens på temat - ”The 2nd Holistic Sludge Management Conference”. Deadline för
konferensbidrag är 7e januari. För mer information se konferenshemsidan.
Svensk delegation till IWA Worl d Water Congress & Exhibi tion i Brisbane

Konferenser i Skandinavien
IWA seminarium om läkemedel srester april 2016
12-13 april nästa år anordnar IWA Sverige ett seminarium om vatten och läkemedelsrester.
Seminariet kommer att behandla det aktuella kunskapsläget, läkemedlens miljömässiga effekter och
hur man ska minska utsläppen till vatten - både inom Sverige och internationellt. Konferensen
kommer att arrangeras i Uppsala, på Norrlands nation. Anmälan görs på Svenskt Vattens hemsida.

2nd IW A Conference on Holistic Sludge Mangament
HSM2016 arrangeras i Malmö, 7-9 juni. Denna konferens är ett forum där forskare och
praktiker från Sverige och många andra länder träffas för att utbyta erfarenheter om den
senaste utvecklingen inom holistisk slamhantering. På konferensen kommer man att diskutera
de olika utmaningar som är kopplade till resursutvinning vid behandling av avloppsvatten. Se

Advances in particl e science and separation: meeting tomorrow ´s
challenges
Conference on particle separation in Oslo, Norway, 22 – 24 of June. Colloidal particles and small
particles in water and wastewater represent the largest group of pollutants desired to be removed
during treatment. Particle removal contributes significantly in the overall treatment process either as
a single treatment process or as an important part of the complicated processes. The IWA PS-2016
Oslo conference will focus on how to meet tomorrow’s challenges in particle science and separation.

Microbial ecology and w ater engineeri ng (MEWE) 2016
The IWA Microbial Ecology in Water Engineering & Biofilms joint specialist conference will be
arranged in Copenhagen 4-7 September 2016. The program will cover a wide range of areas,
including emerging and fast-moving topics (for example, the role of viruses and the fate of antibiotic
resistance genes in water engineering systems), and a number of top-notch plenary speakers. Read

Internationella konferenser
The AW A/IW A Young Water Professionals conference, 18- 19
February 2016
Connect. Collaborate. Create. This is the theme of the 4th Young Water Professionals conference set
to be arranged in Sydney, Australia, 18-19 February 2016. The conference aims to demonstrate how
collaboration between industry, research and government is not only of mutual benefit but can also
facilitate innovation. This will be achieved by showcasing Young Water Professional’s successful
collaborative endeavours both in Australia and overseas. Read more at the conference website.
Wastew ater Treatment Model ling, 2-6 April 2016
WWTmod2016 is the 5th international seminar in the modelling series started in 2008. WWTmod
promotes ongoing dialog between experts by providing a regular forum to facilitate discussions on all
aspects of wastewater treatment modelling, especially "within the fence" (whole plant modelling).

The 13t h IW A Leadi ng Edge Conference on Water and Wastew ater
Technologi es, 13-16 June 2016
The leading edge technology conference (LET) is devoted to innovation in the field of water
technology, allowing to bring research and development to rapid practical application. This IWA
initiative improves the instruments for water management, and widens their scope - with a focus on

integrating urban water systems and river basins. The conference will be arranged in Jerez de la

3rd IW A Specialized International Conference “Ecotechnologies for
Wastew ater Treatment ”, 27-30 June 2016
The 3rd edition of this conference will be arranged in Cambridge, UK, next year with main focus on
development and application of novel technologies for municipal and industrial wastewater
treatment while assuring the goals of environmental and economic sustainability. Read more at the

Singapore Internati onal Water Week, 10 -14 Jul y 2016
The Singapore International Water Week (SIWW) is the global platform to share and co-create
innovative water solutions. The biennial event gathers stakeholders from the global water industry to
share best practices, showcase the latest technologies and tap business opportunities. The 7th
Singapore International Water Week will be held in conjunction with the 5th World Cities Summit
and the 3rd CleanEnviro Summit Singapore, 10-14 July 2016. See conference website.
13th IW A Specialized Conf erence on Small Water and Wastew ater
Systems & 5th IW A Speci alized Conference on Resources - Oriented
Sanitation, 14-16 September 2016
Innovative systems, technologies and processes which can be applied at small and decentralized
regions for the management of water and wastewater, are in the focus of this event. The whole
water supply chain is considered from water abstraction to treated wastewater disposal and reuse.
Furthermore, resource oriented sanitation as a route to sustainable and ecologically sound sanitation
will be discussed focusing on developing countries. The conference will take place in Athens, Greece,

IWA World Wat er Congress & Exhibition in Brisbane, 9-13 October 2016
The World Water Congress is the International Water Association’s main biennial event which
attracts 5,000 water professionals, companies and institutions from over 90 countries. 2016’s
congress will be held in Brisbane, Australia, 9-13 October. The programme will cover 5 themes; Cities,
Utilities and Industries Leading Change; Re-Charting the Course of Water Resources; Enabling
Progress with Good Governance, Sustainable Finance and ICT; Water Quality, Safety and Human
