SYSTEM INSTALLATION

Figure 3A
Figure 3B
Start in the southern most corner of the building. Build
south to north before building east to west. It is recommended to mark perpendicular lines on the roof to accelerate installation.
2
Place four K1250’s on the roof, lined up flush with both
of your marked lines in a rectangular format. Place one ballast
block on each rack at this point. This will help keep the racks
from sliding while installing the panels.
3
Making sure that the panel wires are directed toward
the power inverter, carefully lower the solar panel over the
STEPS 1-3
panel guides of the first two racks (Figure 3A). Make sure
that it is flush with both the upper and lower panel stops.
Pull the panel until the underside edge of the panel frame
is flush with the panel guide. DO NOT MOVE THE RACKS. The
first two racks must remain in their initial orientation or the
array's geometry will be altered. Lower the panel on the
remaining two Kanzo racks. Set down the panel on the remaining two racks. Ensure the described edges of the panel
are flush with the Kanzo rack's panel guides and panel stops
for all four racks.(Figure 3B)
4
Insert the Kanzo Clamp Feet into the clamp channel.
Slide the clamp to the panels. Ensure that each clamp is
flush with the edge of the panel. For the first panel of the
array, tighten all clamp bolts. For all other clamps, DO NOT
TIGHTEN UNTIL THE END.
5
Feed the lead wire into the wire management. The
wiring will snap into the wire management.
6Place additional ballast blocks on the first set of Kanzo
K1250 racks in your array. This will prevent shifting during
the rest of the installation.
7
Grab two Kanzo Racks. On the north side of the first
solar panel, line up the racks with the racks supporting
the first solar panel. Repeat step 3, 4 and 5.
8
Repeat step 7 until all rows of the system are represented in this first column.

To build out a row, grab two Kanzo Racks. Align them
on the side of the first rack in the row where the solar
panel is not over the panel guide.
1
0 Making sure that the panel wires are facing the
direction toward the power inverter, carefully lower the solar
panel into onto the racks already supporting one solar
panel. Slide the solar panel to be flush with the panel
guide, panel stops and Kanzo clamp. Set the solar panel
on the remaining racks. Ensure that the panel guides and
panel stops are flush with the panels. Repeat step 4 and
5. Connect the wire from the adjacent panel to this panel
to establish a string to carry power from the solar panels
to the inverter.
1
1 Repeat step 9 and step 10 for all solar panels in
the middle of the array.
STEPS 7 - 8

2 For the end of a row of panels, grab two Kanzo
Racks. Align the racks with the panels in the row.
13Making sure that the panel wires are facing the
direction toward the power inverter, carefully lower the solar
panel onto the two racks already holding solar panels.
Ensure the panel guides, panel stops and clamps are flush
with this solar panel. For the final two racks, place the
solar panel over the panel guide as was done for the first
panel in the row. Ensure that the solar panel is flush with
the panel stops, and pull the racks' panel guides flush with
the underside frame of the solar panel (Figure 3A). Repeat
steps 4 and 5. Connect the wire from the adjacent panel
to this panel to establish a string to carry power from the
solar panels to the inverter. Repeat for all panels at the
ends of the rows.
1
4Using a cordless drill, tighten all bolts on the
clamps in your system. Add ballast blocks as per the ballast document issued by Kanzo for the specific project.
1
5 Complete the loop of the panel wires to the grid
through the power inverter.

6 If the system requires wind deflectors, place
the deflector on the back edge of the Kanzo K1250's tall
tower. Using the provided screws, hold the wind deflector
in place and fasten the screws to the back of the tall tower
until the screws and wind deflector are flush with the rack.
Do not over-tighten.
The system is now complete. For operation maintenance
and warranty, please reference the section on the right or
speak with your Kanzo representative.

GROUNDING
KANZO GROUNDING DETAILS
The K1250 mounting system is ETL classified to UL 2703 and UL467. Kanzo mounting systems enable
installers using modules included in Kanzo’s UL 2703 listings to quickly and easily establish UL/ETL-certified electric
bonds between all connected array components, including modules and mounting system components, without the
use of additional grounding devices. Multiple strings with a fuse rating of up to 20 amps can be grounded via a single ground lug (either the “Tyco Solklamp SS
Grounding Split Bolt (MFR# 2106831-1)” or “WEEB Lug (MFR# 720-0842)”) acting as a Grounding Electrode Conductor. When grounding devices are installed
according with the approved method below, the connections described meet all the requirements outlined in NEC 690.43.
All Kanzo module mounting attachments are certified as recognized components under UL 2703 for module-to-module and module-to-mounting system
electric bonding. For projects using modules not currently included in UL 2703 listings, additional approvals from the relevant permitting authority may be
necessary to utilize the UL 2703 electric bonding and grounding method below.
GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS (UL 2703 AND UL467 COMPLIANT)
The Kanzo Clamp provides a UL 2703 and UL467 bond between modules within an array. To continue the bond between rows, follow this method. The
arrays are required to be electrically bonded to other DC grounding paths via the use of either #8 or #6 AWG bonding jumpers or a compatible UL 467 listed
grounding device acting as a Grounding Electrode Conductor. To ground the array, first determine the quantity of strings that a single bonding jumper connection can accommodate based on the module series fuse rating and bonding jumper size. Once the quantity of strings per bonding jumper has been determined, a UL 467 listed grounding device must be attached to the module within that group of strings. Most UL 1703 modules provide a multi-purpose tab to
which a grounding device/lug can be attached. The multi-purpose tab has a hole that is .198” - .208” in diameter. In an array that requires multiple bonding
jumpers to satisfy the capacity requirements, each bonding jumper should be located and installed within the group of strings which will be grounded by that
jumper. Note: Every independent array section must include at least one grounding device/lug.
