DesignCalcs
Pressure Vessel design in accordance with ASME® Section VIII
DC streamlines the design process for fully compliant ASME Section VIII, Div 1 vessels. A powerful reporting engine and extensive data library give you the tools you need for fast, efficient vessel design.
We offer DesignCalcs in modules so you can get the software you need without buying extras
you don’t. You can subscribe to only S8D1 Basic or you can use it as a foundation to build your
custom software solution.
S8D1 Basic

This core product supplies the internal and external
pressure design capabilities of cylindrical shells, heads,
nozzles, and conical reducers. It includes all of the materials data from Section II, D for Division 1 vessels, all
the pipe data from B36.10M, and all the flange ratings
for ASME/ANSI off-the-shelf rated flanges from B16.5
and B16.47.
This powerful module expands your vessel design options to include vacuum rings, lifting lugs, clamps, and
jackets. If you cannot use an off-the-shelf flange and
need to go custom or make one using a full-face gasket, you have the option of making both Appendix 2
flanges and Taylor Forge Bulletin 502 full-face gasket
flanges.
DC S8D1 Basic supports customary and metric units,
and solving for thickness.
DC S8D1 Advanced supports solving for pressure and
includes the option to use the 4:1 safety factor criteria
from 1999.

ProWrite
Welding Documentation in accordance with ASME® Section IX and AWS® D1.1
ProWrite keeps your welding documents in order and compares them to the applicable code as
they are created, preventing incorrect and incomplete documents. You can also track your welder
continuity, keeping your welders current and avoiding costly requalification.
ProWrite modules allow you to customize your software to your needs. You can subscribe to any
combination of Welder or WPS; you then have the option of expanding your capabilities with S9
Advanced.

ProWrite or WeldDocs?
ProWrite offers code analysis, displaying notifications
as you work if essential variables are missing.
WeldDocs does not include code analysis, but it does
cover more codes. Both ProWrite and WeldDocs cover
ASME Section IX and AWS D1.1, but WeldDocs also
includes API 1104, BS/EN 287-1, and BS/EN/ISO
15609-1 and 15614-1.
WeldDocs also allows continuity tracking for any code
and displays continuity expiration notifications.

FormPro or DesignDocs?
DesignDocs is sold as a single subscription, providing
access to the most recent version of the most commonly used U, R, P, H and A forms. FormPro is modular, so
it provides more forms with over 10 years of revisions
of those forms, but they are licensed separately.
FormPro requires Microsoft ® SQL Server™ (2005 or
later, Express edition or greater) and a SQL Server
Administrator to perform initial installation and configuration. DesignDocs is a simple install and does not require a database utility. FormPro is only recommended
for large organizations that prepare 150 or more data
reports per year.

DesignDocs is easy to install and requires no

SQL Server administration. It is a single-user
product designed to provide immediate productivity with no training necessary.
The DesignDocs interface emulates paper data report forms to allow you to quickly create reports
right out of the box. Some vessel data may also be imported from DesignCalcs, reducing the
need for redundant data entry and decreasing the likelihood of errors. The program also
maintains a log of documents for new construction (National Board Log) and a record of repairs
(R Log).

WeldDocs

Welding Documentation & Continuity
WeldDocs includes highly effective welder and continuity tracking while allowing you the
freedom to apply your own interpretation of various codes from ASME Section IX, AWS D1.1, API
1104, BS/EN 287-1, and BS/EN/ISO 15609-1 and 15614-1.
Use the WeldDocs reporting system to perform cross-document and cross-welder listings and
analysis. Track your welder continuity and receive expiration notifications for any code—even
those that are not otherwise covered in the software.

Report Designers
CEI offers two report design utilities. Both the ProWrite Report Designer and the Data Report Designer (for
FormPro) allow fine-grained control over your output.
WeldProject
A visual product management utility that allows you to map the progress of a vessel from start to finish. Import data
from CEI products, assign images and labels, and add lines between them to quickly and accurately portray a complex hierarchy of elements and connections. The drag-and-drop interface gives you the flexibility to arrange your
elements and connections in a way that makes sense to you.
NDEDocs
Create and store Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) or Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) documents that integrate
with our project management software to provide a complete audit trail for your welding projects.
WeldToolbox—CAD
Joint image design tool that integrates with ProWrite. Joint design wizards help you easily create the joints and
symbols needed to give your documents a professional appearance. This utility allows for all standard joint configurations and includes all standard notations.
WeldToolbox—Estimator
Data entry tool that integrates with ProWrite. WT-Estimator will allow you to model your welds and welder efficiency
to estimate the cost of future vessel production.
Hardware Key —first key is free for new customers. Additional/replacement keys are $140 each.
A red USB thumb drive that contains your subscription licenses. The hardware key can be installed on any
computer or server on your network. Each subscription license grants you access to one simultaneous
instance of the software and entitles you to all updates for that product released over the period of the
subscription term.
