2014 Lights of Christmas Parade
Greetings:
It’s parade time again and you are invited to join us in the 13th annual Lights of
Christmas Parade at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2014.
The parade is a highlight of the holiday season in San Angelo. Along with the lighting
of the community Christmas tree, this beautiful evening parade marks the opening of
the tour of lights along the Concho River and the Paseo de Santa Angela. It is a
wonderful family event as evidenced by the thousands of adults and children lining the
parade route each year.
Participation in the parade is open to individuals, businesses, church groups, schools,
clubs and other organizations. There is no entry fee. The only requirement is that all
entries must be lighted and appropriate to the season. Lights may be elaborate
generator powered displays or simple battery pack strands.
Deadline for entries is December 1. The parade will be broadcast live on KCSA-FM
radio and telecast live this year by KIDY-TV. Since a script must be provided to our
on-air commentators, please provide as much information as possible about your entry
and the people/organization associated with it.

INSTRUCTIONS
The Shannon Hospital Employee Parking Lot will be available to us at 3:30 p.m.
All parade entries should be in place by 5:30 p.m.
Personal vehicles may be parked across the street in the parking lot by Edison Freshman Campus.
The parade officials will be wearing Santa hats and orange vests. If you have questions when you arrive,
any of them will be able to assist you.
Each entrant will be given a number that will be placed on the passenger side windshield.
This number corresponds to the script and is not your line-up number.
The parade should move at a walking pace. This is especially important because several groups will be on foot and
we don’t want to lose any participants.
Since the parade is being broadcast live, the flow will be controlled when you reach the corner of Chadbourne and
Concho so the narrators will have time to describe your entry and recognize individuals.
Please Note: There is a San Angelo city ordinance that prohibits throwing candy from moving vehicles.
If you want to distribute candy to the spectators, it must be done by individuals who are walking along side
your float or vehicle.
