Ovonyx co-founded in 1999 by ECD, Tyler Lowrey and Ward Parkinson to commercialize NV phase change
memory (PCM).

Intel licensed and purchased equity in 2000. Micron purchased ECD’s equity position in 2012.

Ovonyx has > 200 patents.

PCM is a candidate for new NV memories:
 Licensees: Intel, STM, Samsung, Hynix, Numonyx, BAE and others.

Near term: higher functionality: direct byte write, > 106 Cycles, can replace Flash (and eliminate block erase
requirement) or Dram (lowers refresh power and battery drain).

Longer term: more scalable. As relative cost comes down, PCM can penetrate DRAM for instant-on PC and
reduce power in mobile and servers, replace NAND with 3D MLC for SSD.
