Six elected to parliament
SIX candidates have been elected to parliament, including one
who won the seat unopposed.
Two secured victories in each
of the Muharraq and Southern
governorates, while one candidate each went
through in the
Capital and Northern governorates.
According to
election
regulations, a run-off between the top two
contestants will decide the winner if no candidate secures more
than 50 per cent of the total valid
votes polled.
The winners are:
Muharraq Governorate
Constituency four: Isa Al Kooheji (3,022 votes).
Constituency eight: Abdulrahman Buali (4,197 votes).
Capital Governorate
Constituency eight: Dr Shaikh
Abdulmajeed Al Asfoor (won
unopposed).
Northern Governorate
Constituency 11: Jamal Dawood
Salman Ahmed (3,037 votes).
Southern Governorate
Constituency three: Abdulhaleem Murad (3,716 votes).
Constituency 10: Ahmed Al
Mulla (834 votes).
Thirty-four
parliamentary
seats are still up for grabs in this
Saturday’s second round of elections.
Muharraq Governorate
Constituency one: Ali Isa Bu
