Certified Nurse Aide (CNA)

The Certified Nurse Aide program is a 10 or 13 week
course, which includes 64 hours of class work and 16
hours of clinical work at a medical care facility.
Students learn basic health care procedures including
pulse rates, taking temperatures, respiration, blood
pressure, and patient care. This program will prepare
students to take the State test.

American Heart CPR &
First Aid

This CPR class is an American Heart Basic Life
Support for Healthcare Providers & Heartsaver First
Aid training, including AED training. This class will
cover adult, infant, and child CPR/AED, and first
aid. Learn to identify when CPR is necessary, how
to administer it, the CAB's of emergency care, and
practice on the CPR mannequin.
BLS training is also available –ask for details.
Medical Billing

Understanding Health Insurance and the guide to billing and reimbursement is
all covered in this 10 week course. The objectives are to introduce information about major insurance programs, provide basic knowledge of national
diagnosis and procedure coding systems, and simplify the process of completing claims. Students should have had or be taking a coding class or had prior
coding experience prior to taking this class.

ICD-10 is expected to be implemented soon.
Learn how to code with the latest methods. Deb
has taken the American Health Information Management Train- the-Trainer and became a Certified
ICD-10 trainer. This class will teach ICD-10 Diagnosis coding used in both hospital and physician
offices.
National Certification is available for students
completing the Billing and Coding courses.

easy ways to apply prefixes, learn how to
correctly pronounce medical terms, and
remember roots and suffixes. Students
will learn how the parts of the terms

great beginner class for medical students.
Coding and Billing Online Internship

This online internship offers students an opportunity to put into practice the skills they have learned in
their coding and billing classes. This is a self-paced program where students can gain experience with
coding and billing in an office simulation. This will be a great way to show prospective employers that
students have had experience. Call for complete details on the program.
Pharmacy Technician Program

50 hours + 60 Clinical hours.
This comprehensive 50 hour program will prepare students to work as a pharmacy
technician in a retail or other pharmacy setting and to take the Pharmacy Technician
Certification Board’s PTCB exam. Course content includes: pharmacy medical terminology, the history of pharmacy, the pharmacy practice in multiple environments,
pharmacy calculations and measurements, reading and interpreting prescriptions and
fining drugs by generic and brand names. Through classroom lecture and hands on
labs, students will review dosage calculations, drug classifications, the “top 200
drugs”, I.V. flow rates, sterile compounding, dose conversions, aseptic technique, the
handling of sterile products, total parental nutrition (TPN), dispensing of prescriptions,
ventory control and billing and reimbursement.

Clinical Medical Assistant Program

This program is intended for students who want to prepare for an exciting, challenging and rewarding career in
healthcare. This program will train students to assist physicians by performing functions related to the clinical
responsibilities of a medical office. Instruction includes among other things preparing patients for examination
and treatment, routine laboratory procedures, diagnostic testing, technical aspects of phlebotomy and the cardiac
life cycle. Students will review important topics including phlebotomy, pharmacology, the proper use and administration of medications, taking and documenting vital signs, cardiology including proper lead placements, a professional workplace behavior, ethics and the legal aspects of healthcare. This program includes 140 hours of classroom lecture and hands on labs and a clinical externship opportunity at a local healthcare provider. To be eligible
for the clinical rotation, students must successfully complete the 140 hour program, submit to a thorough background check, drug screening and meet other requirements.
Note: Upon successful completion of this program, students would be eligible to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) national examination.
Dental Assistant Program

The 60 hour Dental Assisting Program prepares students for entry level positions in
one of the fastest growing health care positions – Dental Assisting. The purpose of
this course is to familiarize the student with all areas of pre-clinical dental assisting
and provide training in the professional skills required to function as an assistant in
the dental practice. This course covers the following key areas and topics – Administrative Aspects include: the history of dentistry and dental assisting; introduction
to the dental office; the legal aspects of dentistry; policies and guidelines. Clinical
Aspects include: introduction to oral anatomy; dental operatory; dental equipment,
introduction to tooth structure; primary and permanent teeth; the oral cavity and
related structures; proper patient positioning; dental hand-pieces; sterilization; and
other areas. In addition to entry-level administrative jobs, this course is ideal for
students interested in pursuing a future formal Dental Hygienist program.
Phlebotomy Technician Program

This 90 hour Phlebotomy Technician Program prepares professionals to collect blood specimens from clients for
the purpose of laboratory analysis. Students will become familiar with all aspects related to blood collection and
develop comprehensive skills to perform venipunctures completely and safely. Classroom and lab work includes
terminology, anatomy and physiology; blood collection procedures; specimen hands-on practice; and training in
skills and techniques to perform puncture methods.
Note: There is no outside externship rotation included with this program.
Welding Basics

This class is for entry-level positions in welding and for the experienced welder. Students
may choose to specialize in any area of welding. Skill areas include oxyacetylene welding,
cutting and brazing, arc welding, MIG and TIG
welding.

Our certified welding class prepares students to
become certified in one area in both vertical and
overhead positions. Students prepare to take an inhouse certification following standards and guidelines from the American Welding Society. Certification is available in either Mig, Tig or Arc Welding.
90% attendance is required for certification.
It is strongly recommended that students have
some prior experience in welding or have taken the Welding Basics class prior to taking the
certification class.

Reiki
Instructor: Tracy Chalcraft
Reiki is a form of hands-on, natural healing that uses universal life force energy. It is not meant to
take the place of a physician’s treatment, but instead to work with it. Reiki is an alternative therapy for holistic health with benefits including stress reduction and relaxation which help the body
heal. This is not a religion and does not interfere with any religious practices or beliefs. This technique is used in the Cleveland Clinic and
St John’s Hospital. In Level I, students will learn the
techniques of Reiki. Upon completion of this class, students will be issued a certificate and be able
to perform Reiki on themselves and others.

Computers for Beginners

Are you new to using computers? Do you wonder what people mean when they say the
Cloud, Windows, browser, ISP, etc.? Perhaps you would just like to know more about
how computers work? When it comes to learning the basics, Computers for Beginners
has it covered. Come for one class or all.

for a small additional cost.

Belly Dancing

Want to shake up your exercise routine? How about learning Belly Dancing? This is
the class for you. Learn the basic moves for traditional belly dancing while getting
some great exercise. Students will learn the correct posture and muscle control to become proficient at belly dancing. Belly Dancing is for any age, size and shape. Anyone can learn and have fun. No previous experience is necessary. Students should
wear comfortable clothes.

No experience or “talent” is required, just a desire to paint. This painting class teaches the wet-on-wet method of oil painting. Paintings are completed in one session.
Students must bring a 16” x 20” canvas, baby wipes, paper towel, & a box for transporting painting.

Becky teaches informative classes on living healthier using natural methods and hand- made products!
This session will cover classes on how the ingredients in the foods we eat can be the cause of our allergies. Students will learn different names that are used for the ingredients and also what to watch for
and avoid. Learn from someone who is knowledgeable and has practical experience. Come to only the
classes that interest you.

Hoop House Introduction 101

Learn the basics to Country Line Dancing. This class will start you out at the beginning of each dance
with easy steps that you can build on each week. Don’t worry if you miss one, you will be able to catch
up in no time! Soon you will be dancing like the pros. A great form of exercise!

welcome to use the Career Center computers during designated hours to complete their class
assignments. Classes have online instructor support and all books and supplies are included in
the cost. Students are given 6 months to complete the programs with an extension if needed.
