—Important note-Parents, please remember that the school day ends at 3:20 (2:40 on Wednesday).
Teachers instruct up until
it is time to dismiss. Unless students must leave for an appointment, they become ill at school, or there is a family emergency, students should stay in class until dismissal time and go home on the bus or in car as usual. Students that continually leave early or
arrive late are losing valuable instruction time. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
—Shelbyville Parks Dept. Holiday offerings-Breakfast with Santa is Sat. Dec. 13. There will be two servings, 8:30 or 9:30a.m.
Tickets are on sale now for $6. Hurry, get your tickets by the Dec. 11 deadline!! A limited amount will be sold. See the Parks &
Rec. attachment for other opportunities in December.
—Grandparents’ Night-Our Grandparents’ Night is coming Monday, Nov. 24, 6:00-7:30pm. There will be refreshments, a picture
opportunity (5x7 for $5), visiting classrooms, and more. Please plan to attend!
—Toys for Tots-There is a ‘Toys for Tots’ collection box in front of the school office.
Between now and Dec. 15 new, unwrapped
toys may be placed in the collection box. The donations will be collected by The Marine Corps Reserve and will be distributed
locally in Shelby County. Thank you in advance!
—Youth basketball clinic-Shelbyville Parks & Recreation is offering a Youth Basketball Clinic January 10-31, 2015, for boys and
girls, ages 6-12. The clinic will be Saturday mornings from 9:30-11:00. Children will be instructed on basketball fundamentals and
run drills, including ball handling, dribbling, passing and shooting. The fee is $20. Deadline to register is December 29, 2014
—Holiday Parade-What:The Annual Holiday Parade and Celebration-TONIGHT-Come on out and look for Hendricks teachers
and staff walking and passing out books in the parade. When: Friday November 21st. Location: Shelbyville Public Square.
Time: 5:30 p.m.– Cookie decorating, Christmas treats and hot chocolate, music by WSVX, and visiting with holiday characters.
The parade will start at 7:00 pm with Santa arriving on his sleigh. Following the parade is the lighting of the Christmas tree and visiting with Santa and Mrs. Claus
—Detergent fundraiser pick-up-The new date for the laundry detergent pick up is TOMORROW, Saturday, Nov. 22 from
6:00am to 8:00pm at the F.O.P., 1237 Knightstown Rd. If you’re unable to get your detergent at the F.O.P. tomorrow, it will be
available for pick up at Hendricks School starting Tues. Nov. 25.
