Staff APPOINTMENTS
Jack Kelejian – Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources
Central Unified welcomes Jack Kelejian as the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources. Mr. Kelejian is
in his 15th year in education at Central Unified School District. For the past two years, Mr. Kelejian has
served the teachers, students and community as Principal of Central High School where his driving theme of
“United in Orange” has cultivated a spirit of collaboration among staff and students alike. His leadership
experience also includes serving as Principal of James K. Polk Elementary, where he led the school to the
highly coveted National Blue Ribbon School nomination. Prior to his role as school principal, Mr. Kelejian
served as a Vice-Principal at both Central High School West Campus and El Capitan Middle School. Before
entering educational leadership, Mr. Kelejian taught social science at Central High School’s West Campus
and also served as the Director of Activities. Mr. Kelejian is honored to receive the opportunity to serve
Central Unified in his new role as Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and is looking forward to
working in a collaborative environment, while building strong partnerships with staff and community
members to foster college, career and community readiness for every student. Mr. Kelejian will begin his
new position effective July 1, 2015.
Ruben Diaz – Administrator of Human Resources & CWA
Central Unified School District welcomes Ruben Diaz as the Administrator of Human Resources & Child
Welfare & Attendance. Mr. Diaz has served for the past 3 years as the Director for Bridges Charter School in
Thousand Oaks, Ca. Before that, he served as Principal at Washington Elementary and Roosevelt Elementary
Schools & Rafer Junior High School in Kingsburg School District. With over 13 years of educational leadership
experience at the Elementary, Middle and High School level, Mr. Diaz is excited for the opportunity to bring
his knowledge, experience and successes to the Central Valley and to work with the District’s Administrative
team to support the educational goals of Central Unified School District. Mr. Diaz will begin his new position
with Central Unified effective January 5, 2015.
Rayshawn Hightower– Athletic Director, Central High School
Central Unified School District welcomes Rayshawn Hightower as the Athletic Director at Central East High
School. Mr. Hightower currently teacher Physical Education at Glacier Point Middle School and is a former
graduate and student athlete of Central Unified School District. Hightower went on to California State
University, Fresno and earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Physical Education
and a minor in Sociology. He then continued his education as he earned his Single Subject Teaching
Credential at the Kremen School of Education and Human Development. Currently, he is pursuing a Master
of Arts in Education with an emphasis of Educational Leadership and Administration. Mr. Hightower is a
member of the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA), the California
Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (CAHPERD), and the American Alliance for
Health Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (AAHPERD). Mr. Hightower is eager to continue to share
his passion for Physical Fitness and Academic Excellence in his new position with Central Unified beginning
December 1, 2014.
