Ellen Meeks, Ph.D.

Dr. Meeks has led product development and engineering services for more than 15 years at Reaction
Design, including oversight of all major software releases, industry consortia, and several governmentfunded research projects. She was one of the principal developers of the CHEMKIN Software.
Carlos Alberto Capela Moraes, Dr.
Technical Consultant
PETROBRAS
Dr. Capela is graduated in Civil Engineering at Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo
(USP), with a Master’s in Chemical Engineering, and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Coppe /
UFRJ. Dr. Capela joined Petrobras in 1978. Since then, he has been coordinating different projects of
basic engineering and research and development, focused on Primary Processing of Petroleum. He
also specializes in phase separation and cyclonic technology.
Yutaka Tsuji, Dr.
Professor
Osaka University
Dr. Tsuji is a professor emeritus of Osaka University. He received the B.E. and M.E. degrees in
Aeronautical Engineering at University of Osaka Prefecture and the D.E. degree in Mechanical
Engineering at Osaka University. Since 2006 he is the chair person of the international Liaison
Committee of APPIE (Association of Powder Process Industry and Engineering). His research field is
measurement and numerical analysis of gas-particle multiphase flows.
Humberto Hinojosa, Ph.D.
Reservoir Specialist
GRUPO SSC
Dr. Hinojosa has Master’s and PhD. degrees in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Nacional
Autónoma de México. He has experience in research and development applied to reservoir fluids
properties calculation and process simulation. He also worked in several projects with PEMEX, using
CFD applied to flow assurance processes.
