SCIENCE, SOCIETY AND SUSTAINABILITY
The Board of Directors of the Minerals Council of Australia (MCA) and
the MCA Sustainable Development Committee have great pleasure in
inviting you to attend the 2014 Sustainable Development Conference
to be held at the InterContinental Adelaide from 18-20 November 2014.
ABOUT THE MCA
The Minerals Council of Australia (MCA) represents Australia’s exploration,
mining and minerals processing industry, nationally and internationally in
its contribution to sustainable development and society.
The MCA’s strategic objective is to advocate public policy and operational
practice for a world-class industry that is safe, profitable, innovative,
environmentally and socially responsible, and attuned to community
needs and expectations.
MCA’S SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE
The MCA Sustainable Development Conference is widely recognised
as the leading minerals industry forum for communicating sustainable
development and its practical implementation.
SD2014 will provide a unique forum for senior business leaders,
corporate affairs professionals, industry stakeholders, and environmental
and social policy practitioners to build capacity across key social and
environmental issues for the mining and minerals processing sector.
The focus of SD2014 is on the complexity of challenges currently facing
the minerals industry, and the need for solutions which balance both
sound science and community expectations.
