ROOF
NOTE: The following relates to the roof works which are to
be Contractor Designed, manufactured, supplied and
installed complete. The Contractor is to allow for all
interface connections to other elements of the building to
ensure complete water and air tightness.
ROOF COVERINGS
NOTE: System Guarantees. The Contractor is to provide at
tender stage a guarantee which covers against defective
workmanship of the installing Contractor, defective
materials and defective design. All items detailed in the
specification are to be covered by the guarantee scheme.
NOTE: Manufacturers Warranty; The manufacturer is to
provide an extended warranty for the full roof system for a
minimum of 25 years. Copy of the draft warranty to be
provided at tender stage. Also the full roofing system
should have received BBA accreditation with a life
expectancy of a minimum of 40 years
Contractor Designed Roofing system; Snaplock Seam
system; including 18mm WBP exterior plywood substrate;
installed complete all as NBS Specification H72 and
installation strictly in accordance with the manufacturers
recommendations; work deemed inclusive of all labour and
materials and all detailing required at boundaries (including

openings and penetrations; including flashings and to
include all products, fixings, closer pieces, sealants and

Work ordered to be executed on a daywork basis before
practical completion will be paid as follows:The definition of labour and materials shall be as defined in
sections (3) and (4) respectively of "Definition of Prime Costs

The individual rates for plant, see section (5), shall be set out
in the current (at tender date) "Schedule of Basic Plant
Charges" applicable to a building contract.
The definition of overheads shall be as defined in section
(6).
Where any work is executed as daywork, the daywork sheets
are to be submitted in triplicate to the Contract Administrator
for his approval and signature, at or before the end of the
week following that in which the works were executed.
