Product Information
Short Description
illmod 600 is an impregnated, precompressed foam tape. Since 1965,
this tape has proven itself in driving
rain resistant joint sealing in aboveground buildings.
Since January 11, 1999, illmod 600
complies with all parameters required by DIN 18 542 according to
BG1 by the terms of the ift Test
Report of January 11, 1999.
Consistent high quality is ensured by
permanent in-house and independent
monitoring.
Material
Open-cell flexible polyurethane foam
impregnated with a flame-retardant
artificial resin.

* Movement of building components and changes in length related to temperature should be taken into account in measuring specific joint widths.
Application
illmod 600
Tools
Fitting requires a tape measure, a
spatula, scissors or a knife and possibly a wooden wedge.
Application
● Select the correct tape dimension
(see table) after determining the
width of the joint.
● Cut off the beginning (or end) of
the tape that is too compressed.
● While cutting the tape to the appropriate length, add 1 cm per
metre.
● Start application from the bottom
up in vertical joints. Butt-joint the
ends of the tape.
● The sides of the joint should be
parallel
(maximum
deviation
3 deg.). Furthermore, both sides
must be cleaned of any rough remains like mortar and dirt.
● For aesthetic reasons, the tape
should be fitted 1 – 2 mm from the
front edge of the joint.
● The self-adhesive side of the tape,
which facilitates the application,
can be neutralised by wet joints. In
this case, fix illmod 600 with
wedges during the expansion time
(Fig. 2).
● Please check the specific compatibility with paints, coatings, sealants
and natural stone.

Attention: Avoid tape contact with
solvents or corrosive chemicals.
Application Tips for Cross
Joints
● Pay attention to a flush fit of the horizontally or vertically butted surfaces
in a cross-joint (Fig. 4).
Application Tips for Window
Installation
● Do not apply illmod 600 around
the corner of the window frame
(Fig. 1).
● The tape must be butt-jointed (Figs.
1 & 3).
Application Tips for Solid
Type Construction
● Do not compress the tape excessively during the assembly of prefabricated building parts.
● The use of a water repellent on the
sides of the joint of very porous
surfaces is recommended before
mounting illmod 600.
● Take care that the adhesive side of
the tape is applied on the surface
of horizontal applications.
Service
illbruck’s application technology is always available to support and advise
you on request.
Additional information
The afore-mentioned information only contains
general recommendations. Due to the many different conditions in which applications take
place, on which we can exert no influence, and
the multiplicity of many different materials, extensive preliminary testing is recommended to
examine the characteristics of the material for
each specific application.
