On this CD I wanted to rediscover my musical heritage.
All of these Norwegian folk
songs, along with the music
of Edvard Grieg and Ole Bull,
have been part of my musical
identity since I was a kid.
I used to wake up on Sunday
morning to the sound of my
parents playing some of these
tunes on violin and piano.
I was astonished when I found
that this music could work so
well in a modern jazz setting.
These are all very strong tunes
that will stand the test of time.
