Ida Mae McKee Brandenburg
passed away in peace at home
surrounded by her family on
February 17, 2014 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Mae was 75 years old and
was born in Tulsa on July 20,
1938. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, sister,
aunt, friend, and colleague. Her
family is eternally grateful for
the love and devotion she showed
them, the wisdom she shared
with them, and the precious
memories she created with them.
Mae will be lovingly remembered by
her six children and their families, Mark
Brandenburg, daughter-in-law Kelly, Lisa
Brandenburg Salamon, son-in-law Wayne,
Gretchen Brandenburg, Karin Brandenburg, Jennifer Brandenburg Smith, Joanna Brandenburg Ganiear, and son-in-law
David; and her grandchildren, Ian, Noah,
Tyler, Kathleen, Hannah and Austin. Mae
was the youngest of seven children born to
Charles and Estelle Larrieu McKee. She is
survived by four of her siblings and their
families, Calvin McKee, sister-in-law Patti,
Marjorie Kelley, Nancy McKee, Patrick
McKee, sister-in-law Sally, and her sisterin-law Annetta McKee; and many nieces
and nephews. She was preceded in death by
her parents, brother-in-law Paul LoVoi, sister Gertrude McKee LoVoi, brother-in-law
John Kelley, and brother Thomas McKee.
Mae cherished numerous close friends
and colleagues, especially those that dated
back almost sixty years to her days at St.
John School of Nursing and Marquette High
School. Mae retired from St. John Medical
Center where she was a highly respected

pride in serving as a volunteer
with Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Tulsa where she
was an advocate for abused and
neglected children in the court
system. She was also an active
member of the Registered Nurse
Community Volunteers (RNCV).
Mae frequently expressed concern for the tremendous needs of
the homeless and mentally ill, and
the lack of adequate community resources for the needy and underprivileged.
Mae inspired, encouraged, and supported
the people in her life. She was often consulted for advice by family and friends when
in need and provided valuable assistance to
many. Her passions included spending time
with her family and friends, and travelling the
world, including the six years she lived with
her children in West Germany. Her legacy
of faith, devotion to family, kindness, tolerance, forgiveness, modesty, adventure, and
principled living will be forever treasured.

Edward Buddrus

Edward Buddrus passed away
on February 15, 2014 at Saint
Simeon’s in Tulsa, Oklahoma at
the age of 92. He was the widower of Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Buddrus who preceded him in death
in 1987. He was born in Muskogee,
Oklahoma on November 22, 1921,
and was the older of 2 children of
Curt and Doris Buddrus, both of
Muskogee. He was a graduate of
Muskogee Central High School
and attended Oklahoma A&M
(now OSU) until the United States entered
World War II. He enlisted in the Army and
was a First Lieutenant, and met the love of
his life Betty Buddrus while at Aberdeen
training ground in Baltimore, Maryland.
After the Armistice, he and Betty returned to
Muskogee, and he became part of the management team at his father’s business-Acme
Engineering & Manufacturing Corporation.
At Acme he was President and Chairman of
the Board and led the company to become
one of Muskogee’s largest manufacturers.
Ed worked at Acme for 65 years, and was an
industry leader. He was a two time President of the Air Movement and Control Association (the industry’s trade association).
Ed is survived by his three children, Lee
Buddrus and spouse Deborah, their children, Julie Brummett and spouse Troy, Jessica Buddrus; Nancy Staford and spouse
Charles, their children, Jimmy and Mary
Elizabeth Young and spouse RJ; and Carol
Carpenter and her child Connor. He has
one great grandchild-- Jaxon Buddrus.
Ed was very much involved in St. Joseph
Catholic Church and was a member of The

Equestrian Order of the Holy
Sepulcher of Jerusalem which
traces its roots to the First Crusade, and was on the Board of
Directors for Saint Gregory’s University in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Ed supported many Muskogee Charities such as the Boy
Scouts, the Girl Scouts, Saint
Joseph Catholic School, and
Muskogee Little Theater; and he
served on numerous state and
local Boards including the Muskogee and State Chambers of Commerce.
He was a marathon runner and his record in the Orange Bowl Marathon in
Miami was at the top of the 60 and over
age group for many years for the state of
Oklahoma. He had a love of golf and photography, and most of all he loved to travel
with Betty, his children, and grandchildren. He was highly respected for his professionalism, integrity, and congeniality.
A Funeral Service Mass for Christian
Burial will be held at Saint Joseph Catholic
Church in Muskogee at 10am on Saturday
February 22nd. Interment will follow at
Memorial Park Cemetery in Muskogee. A
Rosary service will be held at Saint Joseph
Catholic Church at 7pm on Friday the 21st.

Billy was born in Miami,
Oklahoma, on June 11, 1947,
the son of Benjamin and Josephine Garvin. He attended school in
Miami, OK, and NSU, in Tahlequah, OK.
Billy was self employed for the
majority of his life as a rancher and in the Oil and Gas industry.

1960-2014
Frank Brian Friedl, 53, passed
away on Friday, February 14, 2014
in Coweta, Oklahoma. He was born
April 27, 1960 in Tulsa to Charles
and Ella (Rather) Friedl. Brian
was the eighth child in a family
of nine children. He had four sisters, four brothers, 10 nieces and
nephews, and six great nieces and
nephews. He married the love of
his life, Teresa in 2001 and they
had one daughter, Tifany. Brian
was a sportsman who loved to hunt ish and
compete in a variety of irearm competitions.
Brian was preceded in death by his
daughter, Tifany Lin; brother, Mark; and
his father, Charles Joseph. He is survived by
his wife, Teresa Lin; his mother Ella FriedlTieszen and husband, Dale; sister Jeannie
Ho-Coley and husband Dan, and their children, Chris Ho, Steve Ho and wife, Shannon
and their children Sullivan and Cambelle;
sister, Mary Browning and husband David;
sister, Theresa Bishop and husband, William, Jr. and children, Cynthia Bishop and

Born in Adrian Michigan, Mike never was
one to miss a good party. He always enjoyed
celebrating his birthday on the 4th of July
holiday. Mike was a kind and generous individual. An Army veteran, he worked for
Whitney Steel Buildings as a VP of sales before starting Patriot Building Systems. Mike
had buildings and friends spread throughout the country. He is survived by his broth-
out the U.S. and Canada. He was
a member of the University Baptist Church serving as a Sunday
school teacher, and Community
Baptist Church in Tulsa serving as
a Deacon. He also served on their
maintenance committee. He took
charge of the kitchen overhaul at
Community Baptist Church converting it into a restaurant quality facility. Throughout the years
he had vacation homes in Bella
Vista AR, White Chapel on Monkey Island Grand Lake, the design and supervising building of the “fort” - a cabin in
Creede, CO. He was a founding member of
Inverness Village retirement community.
He enjoyed getting to know the many residents and assembled a quality wood shop
for residents to use. With the help of fellow
residents he built bird houses and set up a
Blue Bird trail of more than 30 nest boxes
scattered around the property. He was
preceded in death by his Father, Mother,
Yvonne his wife of 61 years, and his brother
Addison Clark McQuigg Jr. He is survived
by his sons Lee and Gary McQuigg, a niece
and two nephews along with their extended
families. A memorial service will be held at
Community Baptist Church (2805 S Garnett Rd) Saturday February 22 at 3:30PM.

Pastor Norman Lerch, 95, went
to be with the Lord on, February 11, 2014. A funeral service
will be held at 12:30 PM, Friday,
February 21, 2014 at the Floral
Haven Funeral Home Chapel,
with burial to follow at Floral
Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral
home from 4:00 -8:00 PM on
Thursday, February 20, 2014.
Norman was born on March
8, 1918 in Plainfield, New Jersey,
the son of Clayton and Lucretia Lerch. On
November 16, 1942, he married his wife,
Doris, in Arcadia, Louisiana. He attended
New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary before beginning his over 50 years
in the ministry, which included being the
pastor at Berean Baptist Church
in Tulsa, and beginning a mission program that built many
churches in Acarigua, Venezuela.
He is survived by his sons, David
Lerch, and his wife, Jo, of Derby,
Kansas, Wayne Lerch, and his wife,
Cindy, of Sand Springs, John and
Lerch, and his wife, Teri, of Broken
Arrow, 6 grandchildren, 4 great
grandchildren, and numerous
other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death
by his parents, and beloved wife, Doris.

nearly 30 years. She was best known for her
fun, high-energy shows that combined punk
and rockabilly music.

Marion L. McQuigg, 91, of Tulsa
died January 23, 2014 in Kanab,
UT while on a trip to a geological
formation known as “The Wave”
in Arizona. He was born in Afton,
OK on December 31, 1922 to Addison Clark McQuigg and Virginia
Thompson McQuigg. He attended
Miami Junior College. He entered
the Navy oicer candidate and
light training programs during
WWII, and received training at
Notre Dame University, Norman,
OK, Atlantic City, NJ and the University of
Texas where he met his wife Yvonne Varos.
He received his Naval Wings and lew PBM
Martin Mariner sea planes while based in
the Panama Canal Zone. He received his
undergraduate degree from North Eastern
State in Tahlequah and a Master degree
from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. He began his education profession
teaching wood working at Cleveland Jr
High in Tulsa. He also taught drafting at
Central High School before becoming the
assistant principal at Hamilton Jr. High.
He opened Eli Whitney Jr. High as the assistant principal and the following school
year became the Principal of Hamilton Jr.
High until his retirement after 30 years of
service in 1982. After retirement he took
every opportunity to council young students on study techniques in order to succeed in school. He and his wife travelled extensively to Europe, Scandinavia, England,

Larae Dirickson, the Tulsa
musician and artist known
professionally and socially as
Tex Montana, died Wednesday of cancer.
She was diagnosed in late
December, and several fundraisers had been held to help
her with medical expenses.
Montana, a pioneer on the
Tulsa rock scene, fronted
her own bands for nearly 30
years.
She was best known for her
fun, high-energy shows that
combined punk and rockabilly music.
More recently, music had
taken a backseat, as Montana,
also an accomplished artist,
focused on her art.
Survivors include her husband, Neil Dirickson; and two
sons, Calvin Berkenbile and
Sam Berkenbile.
