According to Swedish national legislation (the Food Act (SFS
2006:804) and the Food Decree (SFS 2006:813)), competent
authorities for food control are either the municipalities or the
National Food Agency, depending on the type of establishment.

Products from an establishment approved or registered by the
competent authority in accordance with the EU legislation are
regarded as fit for human consumption and may be sold and
