Guaman Pomas krønike er en af de største skatte i Det Kgl. Bibliotek. Krøniken er skrevet i årene 1612-1615
af Andes-indianeren Guaman Poma og beskriver som eneste kilde et Andes-indiansk syn på den spanske
erobring og de katastrofale forandringer i Peru i årtierne efter. Den 1200-sider lange, håndskrevne rapport
med 400 helsides-illustrationer blev i 2007 anerkendt af UNESCO som en del af verdens umistelige kulturarv.
Det originale manuskript kan ses i Det Kgl. Biblioteks skatteudstilling i Montanasalen i Den Sorte Diamant.
Guaman Poma’s chronicle is one of the greatest treasures at the Royal Danish Library. The chronicle was
written in 1612-15 by the Andes Indian Guaman Poma and is the only source detailing and indigenous Andes
view of the Spanish conquest and the disastrous changes that followed in Peru in the decades after. In 2007
the 1,200-page, handwritten report with 400 full-page illustrations was recognised by UNESCO as part of the
world’s irreplaceable cultural heritage.
The original manuscript can be seen at the exhibition Treasures of Royal Danish Library in the Montana Hall
at The Black Diamond.
