Occupation: Full Professor of Neurosensory Sciences Born: 1971 in Denmark Civil status: Married, two sons (born 2009, 2014) Phone: +49 (0) 441 798 3081; Fax: +49 441 798 3620 Email: [email protected] Web pages: http://www.member.uni-oldenburg.de/henrik.mouritsen/ and http://www.henrikmouritsen.dk Main steps in my philatelic development Ca. 1980: Started collecting stamps. 1987: Started my traditional exhibit of the Danish and DWI bi-colours by buying 7,000 8 øre stamps. 1988: First visit to archives of postal museum. 1992: Debut as junior exhibitor (traditional): “The Danish and DWI bicolours 1870-1905”. 1992: Visit to Hans Ehlern Jessen started my transformation from traditional to postal history collector. 1998: Debut as senior exhibitor: “The Danish and DWI bicolours 1870-1905”. 1999: Moved to Canada and started as apprentice judge. 1999: Switched 100% focus to Postal History: “Danish Postal Rates 1875-1906”. 2000: Accredited as a national judge in USA and Canada. 2000: Won my first “Grand Award” (best in show) at INDYPEX 2000. 2003: First international large gold medal at Bangkok 2003 (the first ever exhibit of a Danish subject of nonimperforated issues to gain a large gold medal). 2004: Accredited as Rang 2 juror in Germany. 2005: Accredited as a national judge in Denmark. 2008: Accreditation as FIP judge in Postal History representing Denmark. 2009: Winner of Grand Prix International at IBRA2009 (with PH exhibit: Danish Postal Rates 1875-1906). 2010: Debut as postal stationery exhibitor: “The Classic Danish Postal Stationeries 1865-1905” at local show (91 points). 2010: Debut as a FIP judge at ANTWERPIA 2010 (FEPA exhibition). 2010: First international large gold medal for my traditional exhibit “The Danish bicoloured stamps issued 1875-1905” at LONDON 2010 (the first ever exhibit of Danish non-first issues to gain a large gold medal in the traditional class). 2011: 95 points for my postal stationery exhibit at its first national level exhibition (HOFI 2011). 2013: FIP judge at the FIP show in Melbourne, Australia. 2014: My exhibit “The Classic Danish Postal Stationeries 1865-1905” receives 96 points at the “Seven Nations Challenge” in Malmø, and, simultaneously, at the national Swedish exhibition, my traditional exhibit “The Danish bicoloured øre stamps 1875-1905” made me the first Danish exhibitor to win the Silver Postilljon. 2015: My exhibit “The Classic Danish Postal Stationeries 1865-1905” receives 96 points at LONDON 2015 and wins the best in class award for postal stationery. 1 2015: I have now won international large gold with my exhibits in 3 different FIP classes (TR, PH, and ST) and I have so far never exhibited an 8 frame exhibit at the international (FIP or FEPA) level without getting at least 95 points and international large gold. 2017: Invited by the commission chairman, Malcolm Groom, to become member of the Postal History Commission Bureau of the FIP.
