and Agnes Coulter
Keers. Family moved to
Des Moines, IA; Omaha,
NE; and Minneapolis,
MN. Graduated from
the University of Minnesota as an Aeronautical Engineer. Joined the Naval ROTC at UM
and served in the Navy as Combat Information Center and Fighter Direction Oicer
and later assigned to Naval Intelligence. He
then earned an MBA at Harvard and was
employed by American Airlines 41 years
in engineering and management positions.
Member of the Episcopal Church and
choir member, vestry man and Senior
Warden at St. Lukes Church; later a member of St. John’s Church and Church of
the Holy Spirit Anglican. Howard enjoyed various sports, especially sailing
and racing at Windycrest Sailing Club.
Survived by his beloved wife, Eleanor
Evans Feldmann; sons,
James Howard (and
wife, Leslie Sacha), William Coulter (and wife,
Janet Van Dusen); and
daughter, Mary Page.
Predeceased by his
wonderful sister, Phyllis Kirkpatrick Lutz and
his son, Daniel Evans
Feldmann. Howard is
blessed with seven grandchildren, Benjamin
Howard, Greg Smith, James Ryan, Matthew
Aaronk, Sarah Page, Lauren Evans, and Erik
William; and two wonderful great-grandchildren, Adrian Lucas and Juniper Star.

Kelly L. Flindt

Kelly L. Flindt, 54, of Owasso
went to her heavenly home on
March 27, 2014. She was born in
Oklahoma City, OK on July 9, 1959
to Jim and Merle Lawrence. Kelly
graduated from East Central
High School and received a Bachelor’s of Science from Oklahoma
State University. Matt Flindt, her
high school sweetheart, shared
32 wonderful years of marriage
with her. She worked for Occidental Petroleum as an Engineering Assistant before finding her second
love—teaching science. Haskell Middle
School in Broken Arrow was her home for
17 years and awarded her Teacher of the
Year. She also taught at the Owasso Seventh Grade Center where she went on to be
named the Owasso Public Schools’ Teacher
of the Year in 2011. She served God faithfully at Sequoyah Hills Baptist Church in
Tulsa and Central Baptist Church
in Owasso. Her favorite ministries were with the youth where
she taught Sunday School, went
to summer camp, and remained
a committed servant until her
death. Diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007, Kelly fought valiantly
while testifying to God’s provision
throughout her battle. She is survived by her husband, Matt Flindt
of Owasso; children, Amber and
AJ McMath of Owasso and Cory
and Aundrea Flindt of Claremore; grandson, Hudson Flindt; sister, Kim Raptou
of Sedona, AZ; stepfather, Wayne Hail of
Tulsa; and many beloved family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother,
Merle Hail. A celebration of her life will be
held at Central Baptist Church in Owasso
on April 1st at 4:00pm. Arrangements are
being handled by Central Baptist Church.

Raymond Kenneth Staford,
88, of Lakeview Village, Lenexa,
KS, died Sunday, March 23,
2014, at his home surrounded
by his family. He was born September 7, 1925 in Wichita, KS to
George Elwyn Staford and Arra
Cleo Adams, the sixth of seven
children. He was preceded in
death by his parents, one sister,
four brothers and one grandson.
Raymond attended Thayer
High School in Thayer, KS, and
after graduation in 1943 joined the United
States Navy, serving as a Yeoman Second
Class on the USS Rutland in the South Paciic during World War II. On May 14, 1949
he married Jane Fogleman in Thayer, KS.
Raymond and Jane moved to Tulsa, OK
where he attended the University of Tulsa
and graduated in 1954 with a Bachelor of
Science in Business Administration degree.
He was a member of the Sword and Key
and Phi Gamma Kappa Honor Fraternities.
After graduating and starting his career as
a CPA, he worked for Coopers & Lybrand
accounting irm in Tulsa, OK. He was accepted to the University of Tulsa School of
Law in 1955 and received his law degree
in 1958. He was a member of the Oklahoma Bar and an Attorney and Counselor of
the Supreme Court of the United States.
Raymond accepted a position with Hess
Oil Company in 1960 and moved the family from Oklahoma to Mississippi. A year
later he accepted a position with Hess in
the New Jersey corporate oices. He later
worked in New York City when the corporate oices moved there. After thirty years
with the company he retired in 1990 as Senior Vice President of Finance. For the next
10 years he continued to work as the Hess
representative on the Marine Preservation
Association Board, a collaboration between
major oil companies to establish emergency clean up facilities in the major shipping

Bettie Jean Holbert Allen,
cherished wife, mother, and
grandmother, has gone home at
the age of 87 to be with her beloved husband of 61 years, Donald Patrick Allen. After a graceful and dignified fight against
colorectal cancer, Bettie passed
away peacefully at her home in
Keller, TX, where she lived for
one year after moving from Tulsa
to be closer to her daughter and
granddaughter. Although she may
have lost her battle against the disease,
Bettie showed inimitable strength, love,
and faith as she approached her final day.
Bettie and Don met in 1946 at Froug’s
Department store in downtown Tulsa
soon after the war, and they married just
6 months later. She worked briefly in the
credit department, while he was an accountant who rose to the presidency of the
company. Bettie supported Don’s career by
being a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker for 61 years of what was the most lov-
ing and inspiring marriage. They
shared a firm belief in Christ’s
love, death on the cross, and resurrection, and instilled this in
their children and grandchildren. They attended First Baptist
Church of Tulsa for more than
50 years and adored their Sunday school “partners-in-crime”.
Bettie is survived by her daughter, Lisa D. Baker; her granddaughter, Lindsey N. Baker
of Keller, TX; her son, Don P.
Allen, Jr. and his wife, Kim, and their
children, Shawn, Bethany, and Richard, and their grandchildren, Christian,
Gage, Aston, and Shawn, Jr. of Tulsa, OK.
Graveside service is scheduled at
10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,
the family is requesting that you schedule a colon screening to prevent another
loved one from falling prey to colon cancer, or that a donation be made in her
name to the First Baptist Church of Tulsa.

in New Jersey until 2008 when
they moved to Lakeview Village in
Lenexa, KS where he was actively
involved with Lakeview’s Channel 4 and served on the Lakeview
Village Foundation Board. Raymond became a charter member
of the Lakeview Skydiving Club
in 2012, when he made his inaugural jump at age 87. He was also
a 66 year member of the Thayer
Masonic Lodge #149. Throughout his life,
both personally and professionally, Raymond was known and admired by everyone
for his humility, honesty and integrity. He
was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all.
He is survived by his wife, Jane; their four
children, Terre Frank of Del Mar, CA, Patricia Oakley (Clyde) of Centennial, CO, Susan
Smith (Kelly) of Overland Park, KS, Brad
Staford (Cindy) of Houston, TX; sister,
Vera Harms of Chanute KS; sister-in-law,
Inie Rue Staford; grandchildren, Aaron
Oakley, Max Frank, Dylan Oakley (Christine), Rachel Smith Brudnicki (Keith),
Gretchen Frank Zajac (Justyn), Tyler Smith,
Colin Oakley, Katelyn, Sarah and Allison
Staford; and eight nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends for a visitation at 10:00AM on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at

75th St., Prairie Village, KS 66208. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will be later that day at the Morehead

Eva “Ruthie” Welch, 81, died Wednesday, March 26, 2014. Eva was born February 22, 1933, in Chickasha, OK, and was
the daughter of William David Oval and
Beatrice (Smith) Barnett. Eva was a loving mother to her daughter, Sharon. She
was a wonderful partner to her career
military husband while living in Germany
and throughout the U.S. Eva began her
work career with SW Bell Telephone Co.
in Oklahoma City and later worked as an
Executive Secretary in Washington, D.C.
Eva is survived by her sister, Peggy
Haire; her brother, Bill Barnett and wife,
Pat; son-in-law, David Messer; grandson, Ian Messer; granddaughter, Kevyn
Messer; great-granddaughter, Liv Messer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Eva loved the Lord and was member of
First Baptist Church, Broken Arrow, OK.

Wendall “Wen” C. Lovell, D.C.,
age 83, went to be with his Lord
on March 25, 2014 after a long
battle with congestive heart failure. He was born on September
27, 1930 to Thelma Winkle and
Louis Lovell in Tulsa Oklahoma.
Wendall graduated from Central Hiqh School, attended Tulsa
University, and graduated from
Cleveland Chiropractic College in
Kansas City, Missouri. He served
his country in the Air Force during
the Korean War. He was a chiropractor in
Tulsa for 44 years. Wen always felt blessed
to be able to have a career he truly loved.
Wendall is survived by his wife of 55
years, Pauline; daughter, Robin Williams

Ruth Virginia Meck
|
Ruth Virginia Meck of Tulsa passed away
on March 25, 2014 at 90. She was born on
March 2, 1924 in Indianapolis, Indiana to
the Reverend Harold V. and Anna L. Bush
Hartsough. She graduated from Pasadena
High School and Occidental College in California with a degree in Music Education.
She taught music in Coalinga, California
where she met and later married Arthur
G. Meck. They were married for 58 years.
In addition to raising her 4 children, Ruth
sang in her church choirs and served as volunteer Director Tulsa Southside Meals on
Wheels for over 35 years. She was a long
time member of Kirk of the Hills, Tulsa
Angel Club and SAI music fraternity, and
also enjoyed playing golf and bowling.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Linda
Podbielski and husband, Ben from Murfreesboro, Tennessee; son, Stan Meck and wife,
Louise from Littleton, Colorado; daughterin-law, Ann Hartman from Austin, Texas;
son, Brian Meck and wife, Susan from Prairieville, Louisiana; and sister, Mary Lou from

San Pedro, California. She’s also survived
by 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by Arthur
G. Meck; her son, Kenneth A. Meck; her
parents; brother, Harold Hartsough; sisters, Ethyl Hall and Beverly Moulton.
Ruth was a very caring person who always
wore a friendly smile while serving others.
Her strong faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ was the foundation for her caring heart.
The family is especially grateful to the staf
of Montereau Health Center and St. Francis
Hospice where she received loving care.
