Gospel/
country artist
to perform at
Williams
Center
OELWEIN
The
Williams Center for the Arts
in Oelwein, IA, is presenting the gospel/country singing sensation Guy Penrod,
Sunday, April 7, 7 p.m.
This marks the first time
that the Williams Center has
presented such a nationally
renowned gospel/country
singer such as Penrod.
Guy Penrod is in every
sense of the word a man cut
from the cloth of rugged
individualism. Never is this
more evident that in the
tracts of his first album
project, BREATH DEEP.
It’s more than a collection
of 13 new songs, it’s the
thumbprint of a man with
strong values and a positive
worldview harkens back to
deep roots in faith and family.
His
well-publicized
departure in recent months
after 14 years as a centerpiece of Bill Gather’s
“Vocal Band” was not a
move for the faint of heart
or for a man less sure that
he’s tracking on a right
course set for new horizons.

have approved a recommendation from
the County Planning and Zoning board to
change Ag Land to Light Industrial at the
request of Viafield, who plan on constructing a new grain loading facility.
The location for the new facility will be
approximately two miles northwest of
Oelwein along Highway 3, just west of
International Ingredients.

meeting next Monday, April 15.
According to Ziegler, once an agreement is made
on intentions, the Urban Renewal planning process
will begin, which includes public input/hearing.
Viafield anticipates building a $16 million
grain loading facility using the railroad spur
northwest of Oelwein. Ziegler said this would
result in an additional four jobs and an increase
of the property tax base. Viafield currently has
seven locations in Fayette County and employ’s
80 full-time staff and 47 seasonal part-time.
This expansion will allow them to out load
grain faster and increase their storage capacity.
“Fayette County Economic Development is
fully supportive of Viafield’s efforts. Having
an existing business planning on expanding and
helping preserve its business efforts in Fayette
County is sound economic development,” Ziegler
said.
