The record of the Taylor family set down in this document was extracted from a hand-written document
created by Delia Taylor Pickel dated March 1978, a document created by James Burton Lane covering
the Viar family descendants, and from documents and pictures provided by Richard Lee Taylor.
Updates have been made to extend the record into the 21st Century.
TO THE DESCENDANTS OF JAMES MONROE TAYLOR
Over the years I have gathered information about our family
which I think will be of value to you. This information comes
from a great many sources. Some of them are: The J. M. Taylor
Bible, Tombstones in Clear Branch Cemetery, Unicoi County,
Tenn., Oak Grove Cemetery, Rockwood, Tenn., Family Records and
hand-written notes made by C. C. Taylor, the letter of dismissal
from the Baptist Church of Christ, Piney Grove, Tenn. for John
and Malinda Jane Edwards signed by J. M. Taylor, Clerk and
others.
The record is incomplete; but this may serve as a
background for your own genealogy. I would appreciate the added
information about your family; and I welcome any corrections.
I am proud of our heritage.
