Below: Hyundai dealers test-drove the all-new 2010 Tucson in an Autocross event staged on the PDI back lot to experience the crossover’s performance first-hand. O n April 13, 2010, 725 Hyundai dealers descended upon Montgomery and HMMA for Hyundai’s National Dealer Meeting. The three-day conference was held to bring dealers together to showcase the new and exciting products Hyundai has recently released, as well as a few that are on the horizon for the coming year. The dealers’ trip to HMMA was the marquee event for the convention. At HMMA, the dealers were treated to two tours of the facility. One tour took the dealers by bus around the plant grounds to see how beautiful HMMA truly is. They saw that HMMA Team Members work among well-landscaped lawns and flower beds, and that Hyundai takes great pride in providing a beautiful place to work. The second tour was of the assembly process. The dealers toured Stamping, Welding and General Assembly. They saw how the hard work of all HMMA Team Members comes together to produce the high-quality Sonatas and Santa Fes that are often the dealers’ top sellers. The dealers each got behind the wheel of a brand new 2010 Tucson during the Tucson Autocross. A cone course was set up, and the dealers were challenged to put the Tucson through its paces and get a feel for how the new crossover performs. The highlight of the day was when each of the dealers got a turn to drive a new 2011 Sonata along roads in Montgomery as part of the Sonata Discovery Drive. The drive route took the dealers to historic locations around Montgomery, and the drive gave them each the opportunity to get a first-hand feel for the car’s excellent driving experience. The day was quite a success, and the Hyundai dealers left HMMA feeling excited about the 2011 Sonata and the quality and workmanship that goes into building each and every vehicle.
