Blood Drive
The next Holy Family sponsored Blood Drive will take
place on Wednesday, December 17 from 12:00 – 6:00 pm
in Holy Family Hall. Everyday ordinary people are saved by
some extraordinary people. People who gave blood! Your
donation could be the most valuable gift you ever give.
Just ask anyone who has ever received blood. Please be a

Popcorn Balls
The Holy Family Christian Women will again be making
popcorn balls this year. They will be sold at the Pancake
Breakfast and the December meeting. The price will be the
same as last year: 25 cents each or a bakers dozen for $3.00.

SMSA is extremely committed to providing
financial resources to families who desire
an education enriched by Catholic tradition for their
children. Through the generosity of our donors, each year
SMSA awards aid to roughly 27% of our families. The
awarding of 45 Wisconsin Parental Choice vouchers during
the 2014-15 school year opened up financial aid to many
new families. The process is very easy and completely
confidential. More information can be found by visiting

interested in exploring SMSA are encouraged to go through
the TADS process (our 3rd party aid assessment partner).
Students do not have to be enrolled in order to explore
the level of aid that may be available for your family.
SMSA Book Fair
St. Mary’s Spring Academy is hosting an all campus Holiday
Book Fair at Holy Family Church from Thursday,
December 4 through Sunday, December 7.

Holy Family Catholic Community
The students in grades 3-8 at Saint Mary's Springs Academy
Elementary and Middle School Campus have created
unique and original Christmas cards. These cards will be
for sale after all masses the weekend of December 6/7.
The cards will be sold for $2.00 each. All proceeds from
the sale will benefit Leila Hope Adamson.
Leila, the daughter of James and Kari Adamson, was born
with a genetic condition called Trisomy
18. Trisomy 18 is the second most common
syndrome after Downs Syndrome. The live
birth prevalence is estimated as 1/6,0001/8,000. Only 5-10% of the those that do
survive birth will live to 1 year and
beyond. Leila was born prematurely via
C-section at signs of distress at 34 weeks,
6 days. She required a tracheotomy due to
“floppy” airway, had open heart surgery
for Tetralogy of Fallot repair and has a
g-tube for feedings. She is learning to walk with a gait
trainer and enjoys playing with her siblings.
Leila will turn 3 on December 28, 2014 and will be starting
school in January! Leila has 2 older sisters and an older
brother. She will be getting a puppy in mid December with
plans of training her to be a service dog. Leila has beaten
all odds and is a miracle baby. She has brought so much
joy to her family and they continue to advocate for her
and others like her. Please keep Leila and her family in
your prayers.

hungry, hopeless, alone and frightened.
Thanksgiving Envelope for St. Vincent
de Paul: This season is a time of
fellowship with family and friends. Please

St. Vincent de Paul so that those who are poor can know
the good news of Jesus. The envelope in your parishioner

Support Our Local Food Pantries
Holy Family Thanksgiving Day Masses: Please bring along

offerings will help support the work of St. Vincent de Paul.
Thanksgiving Eve Prayer Service
Wednesday, November 26, at 7:00 pm: Covenant United
Methodist Church, 20 N. Marr St., is hosting this year’s
FAMA, Fond du Lac Area Ministerial Association Ecumenical
Thanksgiving Eve Service. Join us as we gather in prayer to
give thanks for our blessings. We will collect nonperishable food items and monetary offerings for our local
hunger organizations.

Giving Event

We will again provide members of our parish the
opportunity to purchase an alternative gift that connects
the spirit of giving to those in need. There will be four
organizations to which people may give a donation and in
return they receive a gift card to give to family and
friends.
Heifer International is dedicated to ending hunger and
poverty providing animals, training and community
development assistance.
Works of Mercy programs provide ministry to persons with
special needs and provides opportunities for them to be
involved in service to others.
The Santa Rosa Sister Parish project will provide funds
for Santa Rosa parishioners to travel to Fond du Lac in May
of 2015. Bringing our Nicaraguan friends to the United
States will strengthen mutuality in our relationship.
Solutions Center’s mission is to provide safety, offer
support and restore hope to those affected by domestic
abuse and homelessness.
Thank you for supporting these ministries that provide
hope and dignity and improve the quality of life for people
in our community and in developing countries. This
opportunity to “give a gift that gives back” means that all

The Daughters of Isabella invite all Catholic women 16 and
older to join the Little Flower Circle #360 of Fond du Lac.
We are a charitable organization with many spiritual
benefits. Daughters of Isabella has been active in
Fond du Lac for 88 years. We meet every 3rd Tuesday of
the month at 1:00 pm in Sacred Heart Hall.
We are affiliated with the state Daughters of Isabella
which has 4 circles, and the International Daughters of
Isabella which was formed in 1897. For more information

Justice Challenge: The
Gospel for Sunday
proclaims the famous
story Jesus told of the
sheep and goats. The way
we treat the least of our brothers and
sisters is so important to our faith that
it actually determines our eternal
destiny. Your challenge this week is to
go on a mini-retreat (10 minutes is
fine). Read Matthew 25:31-46 slowly
and prayerfully. Then close your eyes
and ask God to help you identify the
least of your brothers and sisters. Who
are the people whom Jesus wants you
to feed, clothe, visit or minister to in
some special way? Now hold these
people in your heart as you ask God to
help you discern which person or group
you are called to help right now. What
do they need that you can provide? Live
out the Gospel call to feed or shelter or
clothe or visit them.

Holy Family Christian Women
The Christmas party will be held on December 1 in Holy
Family Hall, at 6:00 pm. All Holy Family women are
invited. There will be a charge of $3.00 for the meal. Call
Paula at 923-2709 to register if you have not already
signed up.
Please bring a gently used, wrapped gift for the White
Elephant gift auction. The proceeds from the auction will
be used to make meals for the Warming Shelter. We are
also asking everyone to bring one pair of warm children’s
mittens. The mittens will be given to needy families
through the St. Vincent de Paul society.
St. Peter Altar and Rosary Society
The Christmas Party will be held Tuesday, December 2 at
Welch's in St. Peter. Social hour is at 5:30 pm and dinner
at 6:30 pm. Chicken breast and ham will be served. Cost is
$12 and includes tax and tip.
Sign up sheet will be at the back of church - or you can
call Judy, 922-9379 or Sue, 921-5452. Please RSVP by
Sunday, November 23. Cash donations appreciated for
ARC of Fond du Lac to help with two new group homes.
We will have a box at the party for donations.
Christ Child Society
The annual Christmas Party will be on Tuesday,
December 2 at Sebastian’s Steakhouse. Social at 5:30 pm,
dinner at 6:00 pm. Members are reminded to bring
individual packaged servings of fruit, pudding or cereal for
the local Food for Thought program, which supplies
weekend food bags to school children. For more

St. Patrick Rosary Guild
The annual Christmas Party will be on Wednesday,
December 10 at Sebastian’s Steakhouse. We will gather at
5:00 pm with dinner served at 5:30 pm. The cost is $13.00
per person which covers a choice of one entrée off of the
Lite Eater’s Menu, tip and milk or water to drink. Coffee is
extra. Please RSVP by December 2 to Sandy Birschbach,
either by phone (923-6786) or mail (624 Mary Lee Dr.,

to Sandy or pay on the day of the party. Please make

Low-gluten Hosts Available
Holy Family now has low-gluten
hosts (.001% or 37 micrograms)
available for parishioners who have
wheat related allergies or
intolerances. If you or your child
have not been receiving communion
because of gluten levels in the
hosts you can now request lowgluten hosts at each of our worship sites. There is no such
thing as a “no-gluten” host since the Church requires that
hosts used at Catholic Masses must contain some wheat.
However the low-gluten hosts we are using have been
approved by the Archbishop and recommended by the
Catholic Celiac Society.
Those who cannot tolerate a whole host can ask the
Communion Minister for only ½ or ¼ host at the time of
reception of Communion. Those who cannot physically
tolerate even this amount of gluten can request a low
gluten host before Mass using the procedure below.
Procedure: Please stop in at the sacristy before Mass and
ask the sacristan to allow you to put a low-gluten host in a
special container which they will place on the altar.
Please do so 15-20 minutes early since once Mass begins
the sacristan no longer has access to these hosts.
The low-gluten host you have placed in the container will
be consecrated by the priest at the Mass you are attending.
Reception: At Communion time, please join the line
for the Priest-celebrant of the Mass. He will be holding the
container of low-gluten hosts. When you approach him,
after you bow to the Blessed Sacrament, request a lowgluten host. The priest will then open the container and
allow you to take the host yourself (so there is no crosscontamination with wheat) and receive communion.
Please, if you have not placed a low-gluten host in the
container before Mass, do not request one. The only hosts
in the container at communion time will be the ones
placed in the container by the individuals who request them.
