There will be an Alpine Community Thanksgiving Dinner
on Thursday, November 27, 2014 at the Donn Wooden
Civic Center from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm or until the turkey is
gone. There is no charge for this event, but if you would
like to make a donation, please bring canned goods for the
Alpine Food Bank. Town of Alpine Council and Staff wish
everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.
The Town of Alpine will be holding a Special Meeting followed
by a Public Workshop on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at
6:00pm at the Town Hall. The Special Meeting is for the second
reading of #22 Ordinance 2014-05. The Public Workshop will
have discussion on RV Parking; number of abandoned cars on
property within the Town of Alpine and other property concerns.
This is the third in a series of meetings or workshops the Council
will have held to gather information from the public so a new
ordinance can be prepared to govern these property concerns.
The public is encouraged to attend.
Santa Claus is coming to Alpine on December 13, 2014 from
10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Alpine Civic Center. There will be

The winter events have resumed. The American Legion Post 46
will be hosting bingo nights on Friday at the Donn Wooden Civic
Center. The first real snowfall inspired Val and Jeff to begin work

as soon as we have a sustained cold front in Alpine, the rink will
be ready for skating and winter fun.
The Top of the Rockies Snowmobile Club is looking
for members. Please plan to attend a meeting and
sign up for this fun club and please, “think snow”.
The Alpine Winter Jubilee Committee is busy planning for the
annual event on February 20-22, 2015. The featured events this
year include the Snow Rodeo; Scavenger Hunt; Casino Night and
Ice Sculptures.

a great way to satisfy your sweet tooth without breaking the calorie bank.
Add it to your recipe repertoire.
Ingredients
1 3/4 cups graham cracker crumbs
1/2 cup butter
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 (6 oz.) pkg. sugar-free lemon-flavored
gelatin
1 cup boiling water
1 (8 oz.) pkg. reduced fat cream cheese
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 cup frozen light whipped topping, thawed
Methods/Steps:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a medium
bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs,
butter and cinnamon. Mix well and press
into the bottom of a 9 in. square pan. Bake in
preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes. Remove
from oven and allow cooling.
Dissolve lemon gelatin in boiling water. Let
cool until thickened, but not set. In a large
bowl, beat cream cheese and vanilla until
smooth. Blend in lemon gelatin. Fold in
whipped topping.
Pour filling into crust. Sprinkle top with
graham cracker crumbs. Refrigerate
overnight.

With a lift of his chin and a bit of a grin,
Without any doubting or quiddit,
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it.
There are thousands to tell you it cannot be done,
There are thousands to prophesy failure;
There are thousands to point out to you, one by one,
The dangers that wait to assail you.
But just buckle in with a bit of a grin,
Just take off your coat and go to it;
Just start to sing as you tackle the thing
That “cannot be done,” and you’ll do it.
