Dear Members
This month the club lost one of our true friends, Peggy League the
wife of our VP Rocky passed away. I have added a few pictures of
her on the inside. If you ever met her you would never forget her
smile and humor. She was a very special lady and great friend to all
who knew her. Our condolences go out to her husband Rocky and
family for their loss.

WINTER IS HERE!
Please read the details below about the Regular meeting being combined into our social night for the month of Dec. This was voted on at our regular November
Monthly meeting because of the Topsham Fair Association having their Annual meeting on our
regular meeting night. It was suggested and voted on to combine the two nights and have the one
meeting at the Topsham Fairground Café. I have now reserved the Back room at the Topsham Fairground Café for this Social evening and also
asked that our regular waitress Sarah Caron
TOPSHAM TRAILRIDERS ATV
be our waitress for the evening. I do hope

ALL TRAILS OPEN TO ATVS UNTIL WE HAVE GROOMABLE SNOW! THEN THEY ARE
ONLY OPEN TO SNOWMOBILES AND ATVS THAT ARE REGISTERED AS A SNOWMOBILE
The Trails for snowmobile season this year have several major changes to what
riders are used to. Trail #1A has been extended to meet trails #1, #2 in the big
power line. Snowmobiles are not allowed on Trail #1B this is an ATV only trail.
Trail #2 that started on the east side of town behind the old Napa building might
have to be moved due to the newly constructed building. If you have not looked at
the new trail map you need to, so that you ride on the correct trails this season.
The trails are very wet and soft so exercise caution while riding. The weather has
turned cold and the Snow is coming so get you’re riding in now before Mother
Nature blankets us in white and its SNOWMOBILE season again. The trails will
be closed to all ATV's with the exception of tracked ATV’s for snowmobile season. Do your part to keep the trails in good shape by taking it easy on the brakes
and throttle. If you find a spot that needs work let us know. I hope everyone enjoys their holiday season

TRUCKS AND CARS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON ATV/SNOWMOBILE TRAILS IN
THE STATE OF MAINE WITHOUT LAND OWNER PERMISSION.
Asst Trailmaster—Tim Doyle 207-837-0225
ATV’S ARE NOT ALLOWED ON TTR SNOWMOBILE ONLY TRAILS, IF CAUGHT ON THESE TRAILS YOU WILL BE CHARGED WITH FELONY
TRESPASSING.
STAY ON MARKED TRAILS AND ONLY MARKED TRAILS. USE IS A PRIVILEGE, NOT A RIGHT!
The speed limit on Trail #1B between the two sets of wooden posts is 15 MPH, if this speed limit is not followed the Landowner will close the
trail Permanently.
The Speed limit on Rte. 201(Maine St) and in residential areas like Bay Park and Topsham Crossing is 15MPH to help keep dust and noise to a minimum.
While riding please wear proper protective equipment and keep speeds at a safe level. Ride Smart, Ride Safe, Ride Sober. Again, if you’re out on the
trail please bring a pair of clippers or even a small saw to help cut back the new growth from the summer. Every snip helps.

Snowmobiling Tips
Never consume alcohol or drugs before or during snowmobile operation. Drinking alcohol before or during a snowmobile ride can impair judgment and slow reaction time.
Snowmobile operators who have been drinking often drive toofast. Alcohol also causes
body temperature to drop at an accelerated rate, which increases the likelihood of hypothermia. Alcohol has been shown to be a contributing factor in many of Maine's fatal
snowmobile accidents.
Slow down. Speed is a contributing factor in nearly all fatal snowmobiling accidents.
Drivers should proceed at a pace that will allow ample reaction time for any situation.
Drive at moderate speeds, and drive defensively, especially after sunset.
Carry a first-aid kit, flashlight, knife, compass, map, and waterproof matches.

Avoid traveling across bodies of water when uncertain of ice thickness or water currents.
Rapidly changing weather and moving water in streams and lake inlets also affect the
thickness and strength of ice on lakes and ponds. Snow cover can act as a
blanket and prevents thick strong ice from forming.
Dress appropriately. Always wear a helmet with goggles or a face shield to
prevent injuries from twigs and flying debris. Wear layers of waterrepellent clothing and make sure you have no loose ends that might catch
in the machine or tangle in equipment.
Stay on marked trails or, where allowed, on the right shoulder of the road.
Be alert for fences, tree stumps and stretched wire that may be concealed
by snow.
Never travel alone. Most snowmobile accidents result in personal injury.
The most dangerous situations occur when a person is injured and alone. If
you must travel alone, tell someone your destination, planned route, and
when you will return.
